While you're right to suggest there's nothing to overly worry about, you're wrong to suggest that missing players is total crap. Macca and Andersen's absence undoubtedly have an impact. As it would for any team losing two of their best. The two that replaced them should easily be able to cope especially with their experience, I feel we failed because of the teams we faced all had the ability to step up and did along with our ability to miss sitters, if we aren't going to understand the simple procedure of defending set pieces as a team then nothing the two missing players could do is going to make any difference and anyway Anderson was playing against Burnley and he was involved in the horror show at the back.

Living where I do, in a Brighton stronghold, when discussing The Game with Brighton supporting friends ( I know ) we usually make comparisons between our clubs. So my view is that Palace are roughly where Brighton were 3 years ago. They sacked Hughton in search of more expansive football - we said goodbye to Roy in the summer. They appointed Potter, no Premier League experience - we appointed PV. They struggled for the last 2 seasons. But they managed to stay up. In the meantime '' Potterball '' has been truly embedded, a squad of players has been built that are comfortable with the playing style. In turn, when they lose players to injury or suspension, the impact is lessened. Their biggest problem has been scoring goals as we know. But this season they look like steering clear of any relegation worries, albeit they are struggling to win games, as are we.
As I wrote on another thread, 3 defeats in a week hurts. Fine margins in the Premier League. Indeed Brighton, thanks to those injury time goals from Maupay, have squeezed 3 points from their last 3 games, 2 of which could/should have been defeats. Palace are about to play 3 games in which we need to get the points tally up. If we go into Christmas and New Year with just 3 wins under our belt, it's going to be a tough 2nd. half of the season. For those on here speculating about winning 7 consecutive games / finishing 4th., you've just had a reality check. It's a tight league this year, success may just be all about staying in it, disappointing as that might sound. I think I agree with most of this. I think, strangely, the problem is that the speed at which the first XI successfully adopted PV's plan meant we were lured into a false sense that he was some kind of miracle worker. The reality is that good runs are often followed by bad ones, similar to what Everton saw and to a lesser degree Brighton. Unless you have the squad depth of the big clubs you are always going to have good and bad patches unless you have a fluke season like when Leicester won the PL using almost the same XI in every game. Alex Ferguson once said it's all about momentum and I think there is a lot of truth in that. Vieira constantly talks about the players being braver with the ball, but that's much harder when you're on a winless run. It'll be interesting to see what effect last night's win will have on Everton. Hopefully we'll play with the desire that Leeds did. Sometimes it is just about digging out a win.

Nothing is really going wrong. We have a new manager with a new and more progressive style of play with most of the players not naturals for that style. We will need a couple of more windows to remove those who can't adapt and bring in those with the necessary skills, In the meantime, the main thing is to stay in this league so the longer term plan can come to fruition.

What’s going wrong? Our forwards’ inability to find the back of the net. Added to this, conceding three injury time goals has cost us 5 points and several places in the table. Not forgetting losing Jimmy Mac, which was very unfortunate.

Benteke and Ayew are poor finishers, Gallagher, Eze, and Perhaps Edouard are better, maybe even Mateta, a front three of Zaha, Benteke and Ayew isn't working

In the last three defeats we had 27 shots with 6 on target and 1 goal Previous three games (2W 1D) we had 30 shots with 13 on target and 7 goals Simplistic but we’ve basically stopped converting. The main goal scorers this season (Wilf, Connor Benteke & Ayew) were still playing / available throughout Presumably a confidence thing

Although that only really means 4-4-2, which I cannot see PV opting for, or a 3-5-2, which I can't really see we have the defenders for. Ward'll have to play right side of a 3, which seems dodgy.
