In the present case with a very large majority. So it may be said that the elective dictatorship was voted for. Obviously our system is weak unrepresentative and supports the establishment, monarchy the very rich etc. They are not going to give it up, only entrench their rule more. . Can we change it? Yes we can? Will we change it? No, we won't, unless and until enough of us see it as a priority. It's impossible to see the current parties doing anything voluntarily. Turkeys & Christmas! So we need a new party with constitutional change as a central plank of its manifesto. Any new party requires funding, and that is very unlikely to well up in sufficient volume from its roots. So a super wealthy benefactor needs to emerge who loves his country more than his self-interest and seeks a place in history. We need a UK George Soros.

This thread is developing into a very good one with some sensible comments and a welcome lack of acrimony. What is going on?!

As a Communist, I would have though that you would be all for dictatorships. I suspect a big majority brings good and bad. Things might get done without politically motivated interference from the opposition, but on the flip side, there is the potential for corruption.

To be fair, it's not as though the choices are great....in most elections it comes down to the lesser evil.

Kenneth Clarke is not a deity, he is bitter remainer now who plays on his longevity as a mark of correctness.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Our enemies loathe freedom of speech. So why should we not be seeking to deny it to them as well? The principle of freedom of speech in Western Civilisation is a dead-duck. It is over. Too much has been lost already. This is now about how we break-away from the Progressive Left on every level conceivable and prevent their degeneracy impacting on what comes next.

You really need to get a grip - you're not in a war, no one is your enemy and no one wants to punish you. The language you use you'd think you're a victim of some sort of actual hardship, goodness me. Your Brexit rants were always a bit hyperbolic, but they were at least amusing and gave the impression of someone who could poke fun at themselves - your recent postings seem to have lost any sense of perspective and are divisive to the extreme.

The Progressive Left are my enemy. Not only are they against everything I hold dear, they seek to take that from me. Now in terms of how I am living my everyday life at the moment, then the impact of that is almost zero. But just because it ain't raining on you at the moment, does not mean you go out without an umbrella when you see dark clouds on the horizon. I get my political 'kicks' (which is probably as sad as it sounds, I concede but hey, each to their own), from reading/listening/watching around a wide circle of political opinions and actions and all I see is a bloody bleak future for people with whom I primarily identify i.e White Working Class people with Traditional values. All I see and hear, from people and organisations with real power, is spurious nonsense such as 'diversity is our strength' and so on which is just code for anti-white. The Progressive Left want a world in which White people are reduced. Both in numbers and influence. For decades I argued that the bones of that infamous Voltaire quote about disagreeing with what you might say but being willing to die to defend your right to do so were sacroscant. But no longer. 'Freedom of Speech', within the boundaries of how I believe the majority of us understood it, is now nothing more than a historical anomaly. I refuse to any longer believe the Progressive Left have the right to say what they want.
