Drivers will always split opinion on character and talent. Hunt, was for example, from a wealthy family and privately educated. He wasn't an overtly talented driver, but could argue he won the Drivers Championship against his more-talented team-mate. (you know, that season his team-mate nearly burned to death in his car, and Hunt still only beat him by a point) And Mansell, a real trier. Pushed his car over the finishing line in sweltering heat (Dallas GP ?) went up against Prost, Senna, Piquet and eventually won the Drivers Championship. My God, he could fcking winge when he didn't win a race. Senna. intimidating. Dangerous, said Alain Prost, because he didn't think he would die. Blatantly took people off the track, which was unnecessary given his extraordinary talent. not too unlike Michael Schumacher in that respect. How the fck did Alan Jones with the World Drivers championship ? I dislike Hamilton because he tries to play politics. Obviously he has immense talent.

You then have a driver who was not in his prime had been retired for years the cars was nothing like the ones when he drove. He came into the team to develop the team and the car for the later regulation changes so it was a plan for multi years also they wanted at the time for marketing all German line up. Regarding points etc yes Rosberg scored more points which isnt hard when your team mate keeps DNF due to mechanical issues but look at the big picture in an awful car who managed to drag out the best results this shows true drivers not all about the car. LH yes the first season you could understand him not being up to par with Rosberg but that was not the season he lost to him the drivers title. No point even commenting on the rest as already said you have no clue what you are talking about regarding the sport and how it works also drivers mentalities

I'm not a fan, but I have to say that his driving to Pole Position in Qatar today was nothing short of majestic.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

An amazing performance from LH with everything going for his rival. Including brake-testing him, where the lead driver makes the second drive into his back, being over-taken from off the road, and a highly dubious barrier repair which awarded Verstappen a new set of tyres (the barrier looks just like it was before the repair). The win makes them level on points, going into the final race. This was just so exciting with the stop and starts, virtual this and that, these guys must be totally exhausted, I am and I am only watching.

Can't help but feel Hamilton is playing the right strategy. Near the start of the season, he would have moaned like a biatch about Max and everything he could. Edited by Forest Hillbilly (06 Dec 2021 5.52am)

Abu-Dhabi could get very messy. IF, Max takes Lewis off & doesn't score any points, Max wins championship, due to having one more win over the season. Could develop into another Senna/Prost or Schumacher/anyone scenario, hope it won't. This has got to be one of the most dramatic seasons ever, the twist n turns(pun intended), whinging by drivers & constructors, fantastic driving & y/day was the epitome of everything that F1 is, long may it continue. Cant wait for next week.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Yes, looking forward to next week. I can't help feel that Max will take any opportunity to get them both off the track and win the championship by default. This would be particularly galling as one of his wins was the farcical 2 laps behind the safety car Belgian grand prix.

It really was one of the best and worst races I’ve ever seen. I must admit that I’m a little surprised that Lewis is dealing with Max as well as he is. The guy is a weasel. He must be so difficult to race against as he refuses to budge an inch, he’d rather crash than concede a place or back out of a move. If Lewis raced with the same intent that guys would crash every week. I would love Lewis to win next week and go mental in front of Max. Just really need a Mercedes front row and for Bottas to do a job.

There's a real chance he will take Lewis (and himself) out at some point during the race. Maybe the FIA should have given Max a suspended 1 point penalty which would be applied if this were to happen. Would be dissapointing if the race was over at the first corner or the chamionship won by default.

I suppose the smart money is on Hamilton. He knows how to play the game and has stopped moaning and become 'professional'. Max is more likely to lose his cool and do something contrived to take them both out. No one is expecting a fair fight
