I wasn't implying that anyone is craving to put on a suicide vest or alternatively gun down those inside a mosque .. it was more a comment that while law enforcement weight logically has to be directed where most needed (radicalisation etc), given the population size the idea that every muslim is a 'potential terrorist' is vanishingly small and damaging to push, just as it is labelling anyone else in such a way. Taken from a different angle, I would assume most rapists are men, most murderers are men etc, same with the majority of crimes.. but with that being the case I would hope that nobody would feel it reasonable to label each of us as 'potential rapists' or 'potential murderers'. I've just seen the video of the explosion not quite how the media originally reported it. They said he locked the car doors jumped out then bang. The video shows the taxi blows up and then the driver leaps out. Anyway glad the driver is safe. Yeah, I was suprised he just ran, leaving his door open, unless he could lock the back seperately, with a fob or pushed a button on the dash. The bloke in the back was probably dead anyway, if it was me, I would have shut and locked all doors, after collecting his fare plus a nice tip, stayed on scene, directed any passers by out of the area, and pushed cab into a space away from other cars, but hey, thats just how I roll!

The victims of most crimes are men. the victims of gender inequality are mostly men too. Certainly in terms of life-expectancy, suicide, homelessness, fertility, incarceration & industrial accidents. Plus getting your bol1ox blown off on a battlefield. And nearly all muslim suicide bombers are male too. Darwin's law is alive and well.

His pickup was from toxteth, probably locked the doors to stop being robbed or the bloke running away without paying. Everytime I have got a cab in liverpool they want to know everything, dont stop talking. It doesnt take too much to work out why his passenger wants to go to the cathedral on remberance sunday, especially if he is of a middle eastern appearance as has been mentioned, it isnt that far from toxteth in any case. Oh well bit of an own goal this one by the looks of it.

The victims of most crimes are men. I certainly don't disagree with you on that but point being made was that lazily plastering all muslims as 'potential terrorists' is little different from deeming all men 'potential rapists' just because most rapists are men.

Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Nov 2021 3.03pm) Certainly, one of my favourite videos of his. While I wouldn't say it's the full picture of how the sexes are treated, aspects of sacrifice and suffering that is so often plotted out by society regarding men are rightly highlighted. I often think the same is true of medical matters. Whether physical, sexual, or mental health, we're always told that men should 'talk' about health problems, but its never said that they reason they often don't is that frequently nobody wants to hear about it .
