Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Edited by Jacey (31 Oct 2021 9.26am) Normally Keene’s refusal to follow Sky’s relentless cheer leading is quite refreshing but “even Palace” is a bit too condescending.

When we sold him, we knew that AWB wasn't the finished article. You would have expected that moving to United would have improved him, but that hasn't happened. But then the coaching at that club is coming in for a lot of criticism.

Wardy to MU for another 45. Awb back for 5. Rebuild him, make him worth 45 again? Now where have we done this before?

As great as he was for us, Wan Bissaka did seem a slightly odd choice for Man U. His predominant strength is defending and his tackling is excellent. But going forward he always looked less assured yet teams like Man U were always going to want a full back who would attack well. I can only assume they thought they could help him develop that area of this game but the verdict so far is mixed. His performances for us raised his profile and with Man U looking for a right back the timing of the deal suited us perfectly and we were able to extract maximum value.

Don't think Keano's "even Palace" comments were as rude as they sounded. It's a combination of him being our most valuable ever player (since we never sold Zaha) and our player of the Season. "Even Palace" is basically saying despite all that his home club wouldn't want him back. I actually think it's a bit sensationalist but on the other side, he flourished where he was the last man back in a defensive Hodgson Team. I'm not sure he'd particularly relish playing for Vieira. That's why it's also so bizarre United went for him in the first place. When you plan to have over 60% of the ball and win most games, you see the type of players top Clubs go for - Walker, Cancelo, Trent, Robertson etc. Oh well, United's terribly recruitment strategy was a great thing for us.
