And Varadkar's ballot performance, in his own constituency, was an historic low for a sitting Taoiseach. Edited by PalazioVecchio (23 Oct 2021 6.17pm) Edited by PalazioVecchio (23 Oct 2021 6.19pm)

Taoiseach Mary Lou will happen. And will be at least as much a disaster as Haughey, Bertie Aherne, Varadkar and all the other evil clowns. Sinn Fein make Jeremy Corbyn look sensible, likeable, and friendly toward Israel. Sinn Fein.......LGBTQ, BLM ( standing as a candidate in Fermanagh that doesnt have any B ) , climate activists, Feminists, pro abortion, Sinn Fein.....multiculti ( they love and embrace every culture except the one which corresponds to 50% of the population of Northern Ireland ) The Shinners are chasing after the votes of the rainbow ethnic 'everybody hates ManUtd' 'everybody who is not British in Ulster'....... vote Sinn Fein cos they stand for whatever their media advisors told them this week. You want peace in Ulster ? maybe sack all the traditional politicians Edited by PalazioVecchio (23 Oct 2021 7.24pm)

You think inner city Dublin and Limerick, and Catholic Belfast, support BLM and LGBTQ. They don't, the Sinn Fein grass roots support is nationalist, working class and white. There is, of course, the University intelligentsia who jump on the Republican bandwagon, but that's not Mary Lou. She's the darling of Dublin housewives, the last thing they like, in general, are foreigners and gays. It's all new and not religious to them. They'll go by what the priest says, unless he says vote for FF or FG, no one will do that anymore - except the diehards.

Sinn Féin......a Catholic Party that supports abortion & multiculturalism. Two Things Pope Benedict railed against.
Personally (as an atheist) i dont give a f..ck about Catholic & Protestant rivalries and wish they could all just get along peacefully. But surely a politician that claims to be one thing, while being another ? is quite irritating. Vote Sinn Fein and they will go on a crusade for a ton of stuff you hadn't even thought about. You can barely find Palestine on a map ? Doesnt matter, your local Shinner politician will work themselves into a frenzy for an electoral constituency 3,500 miles away in the Desert. They've had ten years to stop it and they they still refuse to do it. Edited by corkery (25 Oct 2021 5.56pm)

Edited by corkery (25 Oct 2021 5.56pm) Agreed. The problem in the Republic is that all the parties are dogsh1t FF/FG/Lab/SF/PBP/Greens......and a whole load of other dogsh1t. And because of Proportional Representation, its impossible to steer the country anywhere. The parliament is a talking shop that achieves very little. A bit like Italy.

In isolated circumstances you may have a point, but in the big picture perhaps political action lurching this was and that and time, is not always 'better' than there being less change but broader agreement as result of a vote that take into consideration how people vote rather than an arbitrary race type format.
