The most exceptional of sportspeople are most often either extremely gracious, or frequently bellends. In the case of the latter I think they just become bored by their own talents. See Ronnie O'sullivan.

Not just sportsmen; many actors find that dressing up and playing make-believe in front of a green screen gives their opinions weight and authority that mere mortals can only admire and emulate.

Definitely. They're so used to being front and centre that they see it as a 'pearls before swine' situation. My favourite celebrity political commentator has to be our Eddie (Izzard). Someone I wouldn't call particularly arrogant, but talk about backing the wrong horse. Every political figure or cause he backs is a non starter .

Lewis Hamilton is loved by the BBC

I just assumed this thread was click bait for people to come out and call him a C8nt.... My theory on LH is that he has exceptional spatial awareness and reaction skills and is doubtless a talented driver. But he's a bit thick and lacks the awareness to understand the hypocrisy of his 'causes' or the ridiculous tripe that comes out of his mouth. Thats me giving him the benefit of the doubt..
4 playoff finals, Claridge, Hopkin, Shipperley, Phillips.... Life's never dull! |

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
