Next issue will be the bus industry. Big shortage of drivers throughout country services being cut and rumoured takeover of Stagecoach by National Express ? Good Times ahead

I am not sure this can possibly be Brexit related. It would be interesting to know how many bus drivers were EU nationals. Seems some industries are “jumping on the bandwagon “ to reduce costs

This is the flaw in the logic that companies simply need to increase wages to solve the problem - you will just drain talent from other sectors, who then face the exact same shortages.

It's not just a wage increase they actually have to train up more staff otherwise I agree with you robbing Peter to pay Paul.

It was a premeditated strategy by Next and other commercial businesses, I suggest.
They decided to shift their resources into more profitable areas, using an excuse that shifts the onus of their decision onto others.

It's alright lads, our benevolent criminals are going to save the day. Imagine the fun they'll have delivering thousands of pounds worth of goods around.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Where do the new staff that need training come from though?

What, like deliveroo and Just Eat? Yeah, what a loss. There’s many on zero hours contracts or no contract at all and I can guarantee everyone making the points you’re making has complained about it.

Timpsons recruit ex prisoners to run their shops so it isn’t that far away from a long term strategy.

You think the kid riding a pushbike for Deliveroo on weekends is going to re-train as a full-time HGV driver?

Pure fantasy.
