Remind me why we got rid of him (and kept Ayew)?

Sorry but that’s absolute nonsense. Keepers kick balls like that out every day, At every level of football. It went past the half way line, plenty of goal kicks or free kicks in your own area are far worse than that. Focusing on the kick out from VG is entirely missing the point of that goal.

Trossard, on the full volley, played a defense splitting perfect through ball, which took out the entire back line and was perfectly weighted for that little rat, who tucked it away.

He played a perfect through ball, on the volley. Sorry but you have to take your hat off to that.

Why scapegoat VG for that goal? Why not scapegoat the entire midfield for not getting to it before Trossard or the entire back line for being caught flat footed? Problem with scapegoating is it doesn’t really make sense when you examine it.

Let’s be honest that was a massive fluke but brilliant goal. Trossarda volley was world class and Mowpay lob literally inch perfect. Don’t forget Guaita had just injured his shoulder. I don’t blame any of our players hats off to the weed players. But I bet they couldn’t repeat it. We were robbed by that cos we so deserved to win. We were all over them.

We are improving with every game. Imagine it with Eze back. The way we are now we will be looking at Zaha Eze Gallagher Edouard Olise Mcarthur (superstar) Hughes Luka Kouyate mid and attack. Scary. Then Ferguson still to join the defence. We’re gonna be awesome. Our defence look so strong. Plus Kouyate all legs and arms but still very strong. Then Raki Saki and the blossoming juniors. Can’t get my head round it all.

Did we get rid of him?
I thought he rejected the contract on offer and decided to walk, especially when he learned his old mentor Benitez wanted him.

Every game is a learning process at the minute.

Andersen will learn from that howler today, and PV is learning about how to get the best from this group. Andersen and Geuhi have the potential to be very good, but it will take time.

I think Olise will be starting soon and Eze will add more options.

Great fight back today and it shows the lads have that belief.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

It was a great fight back today ,brilliant to watch. It was just a pity it had to be a fight back as we were the better team in most departments, that is except the department of shooting one self in the foot. This was another game we really should have won, not been making a great comeback.
There is no doubt though we move in the right direction , the promise of a really good season is clear to see, in fact we are not far away from being a really decent side, it only needs to improve the concentration levels, to stop gifting the opposition and there are some good wins coming.

This is the first time in a decade that, if we go behind, I actually feel optimistic that we won't roll over and meekly surrender. Watching Palace isn't painful anymore , may the good times roll.

We are seriously going to give someone a right tanking as soon as we get a more friendly run of fixtures.

Where were you during promotion and some of the other teams since? You are correct regarding Hodgson though. Even at 0-0 after 20 minutes you could predict the result.

I'm encouraged by our performances and like Vieira's measured approach.
I think we will have to accept that playing out from the back will lead to a number of avoidable goals.
You have to hope the benefits will outweigh the deteiments in this approach.
We should have taken 6 points from the last two games instead of 2 points.
If we can just get a few more details right in both penalty areas I think we'll be fine.

The thing that was most encouraging for me is that we stuck with the plan. I would have understood if after conceding 2 whist being so dominant we would have been a bit less brave, or started lumping it more. But to their credit they stuck to it.

It feels like the team are bought in to PV’s plan, and they are giving it their all. Vs under Hodgson where they are just doing what they are told.

My biggest worry is what happens if one of the CB’s get injured. They are vital to this working.
