I don't mind annoying the French but I wonder about this deal which is essentially anti Chinese, I have no love for them but why are we getting involved in this.

Did you read that China is joining the CPTTP, of which Australia is a member and the UK has applied too?

So they will in fact be having a trading relationship.

And the CPTTP is free of the USA, must be paradise.

Yep and both the UK and US have learned nothing from their expensive beating in Afghanistan. More billions of tax payers money to be transferred into the accounts of the few that own the 'defence' companies. Very pleased that the EU has steered well clear of this financial and political disaster which will unfold over the next years. The only way forward is dialogue and trade which China and the EU have already put in place, not threatening bombing and firing bullets. Still, opens up even more business opportunities between the EU and China thanks to the US and UK.

Well, 'applying' and being accepted are two very different things.

You must have missed the fact the the EU's de facto military head honchos had a deal 'of the century' to sell submarines to the Australians and the EU itself launched its own Pacific policy just last week. At its heart this features "ocean-governance".

Apart from that, you are spot on.

The truth always hurts.

The PM and new foreign minister already flying to Washington to get their orders.

France are a vassal state of their invaders and occupiers, whilst openly and constantly pissing off their liberators. That's what you couldn"t make up.

Most certainly but the EU didn't lie and break any deals at the last minute, a trait that's now embedded in the UK's international reputation. The EU's prime focus is trade not military 'might' and that's why it's the largest and most successful trading bloc in the world but hey ho, others can keep their heads truly buried in the sand thinking otherwise. Enjoy watching your tax contributions going up in flames.

Imagine putting a negative spin on Britain making billions out of this agreement.

Britain has Military bases in Australia, Singapore & Brunei, we are perfectly entitled to protect our interests in the region.
China has been preparing for war for a very long time, we can either continue to ignore it like we did with Germany or we can finally do something and help protect our allies in the region until the australian armed forces can fully pick up the baton an lead in the pacific.

Closer to home it is again the uk & the us taking a leading role in reinforcing/training the Baltic states, we currently have a large presence in Estonia.
Russia has made no secret of its desire to have year round wet ports and the Balkans are ripe for the Russians to invade, they have form in recent years too.

This leads on to my next point, the British military are currently assisting France with the conflict in Mali and by Proxy were at war with Russia as Mali has been flooded with a motherload of Russian PMC's working against the interests of the french.

Have you ever been to Taiwan?

Firstly China are building 150 brand new ICBM nuclear missile silos, you can see them on the following link.

And here

The CCP have also announced they plan to keep nuking Japan until there is nothing left
See here
[Link]
You need to understand how the CCP works, if this kind of news makes its way into Chinese media it first needs to go through the CCP so you can take it as a promise from the top of the Chinese government.

China are currently militarising/building a ton of Islands in the East/South China sea & the Philippines sea enabling them to apply considerable pressure on their neighbours.
Heres a google of the Spratley Islands.
[Link]

China has also threatened to destroy Australia should it get involved in regional conflicts.
[Link]

China's Navy is now the largest in the world and continues to expand at an alarming rate, as does their air force.

China has made no secret of its plans to dominate the Pacific.

China will invade Taiwan.
Taiwan has around 290,000 fulltime land/sea/air troops which can be rapidly deployed to defend the Island, it also has around 3.8m conscripts that it can call upon (2 days military training a year)
The Western half of Taiwan is a fortress and the Taiwanese would look to rain an unbelievable amount of Missiles upon a frontal Chinese assault.
China would first take a small set of Islands to the West of Taiwan (take a look on google you'll see what I mean) from there China would use the Islands as a staging area and could encircle Taiwan and invade on all sides long before the US manage to wake Biden up from one of his naps.

China has been in an arms race with the West for years and we have sleep walked into this and are considerably behind in the region.

AUKUS makes a lot of sense, what were seeing is the beginnings of a Pacific NATO, I would imagine Japan will be brought into this too however I suspect New Zealand wont get a look in as they are quite compromised by the CCP.

For Britain this is great news, the US cant build Nuclear subs quick enough for their own fleets and cant really spare the manpower to build a fleet for Australia this is where Britain comes into it, we'll be supplying the expertise to flesh out Australia's Nuclear subs which will be worth Billions upon to billions to the UK.

I cant find the exact quote however the Australian Minister of Defence Peter Dutton is pretty new to the job and recently did and assessment of Australian military capability and was horrified to see that the Australian military was in a right s*** state and, has set about completely rebuilding the Military, AUKUS clearly is a big part of that.

Laugh and take the piss all you like but China are not f***ing about, and if you think it ends with just Taiwan you're sorely mistaken.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The EU didn't have a deal - did it? France had a deal, but didn't deliver. Your pro-EU prism is bending the truth.

Did the UK lie? I have seen no suggestion the UK lied - it conducted trade negotiations in secret and became involved in a government to government to government defence project. The UK certainly wouldn't have done the deal had it remained in the EU, that much is probably true.

As for your claim about the EU being about trade not about arms perhaps you missed the bit about France crowing about arming the Aussies with a dozen submarines for billions of dollars? Have you noticed what the head of the Commission and President Macron have been crying out for this week? An EU military, a sovereign EU capability no less.

Thank goodness we are out.

No, thankfully the EU wasn't part of any deal like this. My reference was to the EU's general reputation on international deals and agreements. The UK with brexit and it's continual attempts to break the deal signed with the EU over NI is recognised very well internationally, especially by the US who have shown huge anger at Johnson's attempts to not honour what he signed in December 2020 with regards to the NI WA.

For sure the EU will ho ahead with it's own military force but unlike the US and UK they won't go 'patrolling' the south China sea which has nothing to do with them at all. What the EU will do is use the latest technology to protect it's own borders rather than go sabre rattling in someone else's back yard. The US, UK and Australian project will be doomed from the beginning as they will all start to have disagreements about the funding and as usual, the US being the biggest of the three self appointed bullies will win while the other two will pay dearly both financially and in terms of international credibility. China will soon overtake the US as the richest nation in the world and the EU is placed very well to build on the economic deals it has already.

Orange, have you read the EU's policy which was announced last week? Your belief that the EU won't go patrolling is wrong.

• Promote an open and rules-based regional
security architecture, including secure sea lines of
communication, capacity-building and enhanced naval
presence in the Indo-Pacific.

• Explore ways to ensure enhanced naval deployments by
EU Member States in the region.

• Support Indo-Pacific partners’ capacity to ensure
maritime security.
