Been reading Celtic forums, very split about him. One interesting point made was that he contracted Covid, the after effects may have affected the way he was playing. Also 2 of his close teammates left so he was somewhat isolated during the pandemic, who knows.

I posted this back when we missed out on Armstrong...feels more relevant now so sharing again. I'm happy we have got this guy...but if we want to score more goals then I really do believe our build up play needs to be faster.

I think the Celtic lad Odsonne Édouard may have been a better option for us than Armstrong.

His goal scoring record is easily as good. He has a fantastic record for the French youth sides having scored 17 in 14 for the U21's and 43 in 51 across all the various French youth teams he has played in.

His record for assists is also very strong. When you add his assists to his goals tally he has contributed to 84 goals in 102 Scottish Prem games.

His record in Europe also holds up...15 goals in 39 games with a total goal contribution of 21 when including assists.

The main issue will be how good has the opposition been, how much would he cost and how much will his wages be coming from a big side like Celtic...but I would say his potential is there for all to be seen.

Another issue may be that he really is a centre forward and has had most of his success playing in this position.

It's probably all signed off. To be fair Parish always insists that all signings are announced on the club website. This happened last year with a really late announcement. So don't expect anything until about 9:00.

It may make sense why he was so awful on Sunday now (Mind you the whole game was)... He would of known he was due to come and have a medical with us and wouldn't be surprised if he had not wanted to play and maybe forced to..

My Cousin is a ST holder at Rangers, but is smart enough to give a reasonable opinion. He said if the Edouard of 2 seasons ago turns up then we have a hell of a player on our hands. He comes across as a bit lethargic and as having a bit of a chip on his shoulder but clearly has alot of talent.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
