Surely you'd want a preseason and a settled squad?! Its accepted that after the international break you'll have a better idea how everyone looks. I suspect unlike the big boys who can pick the player they want, we are more after player types and value for money. e.g. Edouard or Nketiah. If Arsenal drop their asking to 10m Nketiah is good value...if they want closer to 20m we might as well go for Edouard Will Hughes is a prime example, surely nobody has identified him as a top priority. But then he doesn't sign a contract extension, and could be available at the right price suddenly its worth looking at. Don’t disagree with that. But I do think that whatever the financial restraints involved, and practical difficulties, it is going to be crucial to continue to strengthen before the end of this window. And I hope whatever they hope to do has been in hand for a while now and stands a chance of happening.

Absolutely. and the more you spend on 1 position the less you have to spend on another. Unless there is no money available, there cant be anyway the hierarchy has missed our inability to score. Athletic are reporting Hughes for 6m. Wouldn't have been anyone's first choice, but for that money that is a good bit of business. Hopefully another 2 attackers after him

Yep. Hopefully Ferguson will be back by then so that might feel like a new signing. And we'll also have seen enough of TM to know if we need to sign a starting or back up LB

we need to strengthen in attack and at full back, but the latter problem might not be as drastic in a month or so - it depends on when Clyne is available and if and when Ferguson become available, bcos both Jairo and Schlupp can play at left back, and Tompkins and Guehi can play at right back, so if we have to choose which area to prioritise right now I would say it's up front.

We talk about transfers buying and selling before and during every window. But, the way Parish he does his business is the way he does it; and it's been the same since day one. Having said that I think this is one of the better windows.

I would start Ayew up front today. I feel he’s been wasting over last year or so stuck out on the right to plug a weakness there whilst Benteke is allowed a free rein at under performing in an advanced position. Ayew also scored a cracker against WH a couple of years ago. Remember that dink? Prove me wrong Benteke. PLEASE!!!!!!

Sadly he can't, if the sales of good act applied to football transfers then we could sue Liverpool for selling us something that not fit for purpose!

Still a few days to get a fleet of foot young striker tearing around up front making good runs, finding space and getting a shot off in a second. Bang. Goal.
