Norwich, Newcastle and Watford for what its worth. The toon have been pushing their luck for too long and a due the big one. I think that might be due to Karma rather than their squad though...

I'm going for;

18th - Newcastle
19th - Burnley
20th - Norwich

But I think all the bottom half will be bunched up this time.

Newcastle have spent 10 of the last seasons in the PL.
Since they returned after relegation they have spent 4 seasons in the PL finishing 10th,13th,13th and 12th.

With supports back in stadia, they might well benefit from their fervent and vociferous crowd.

Th PL is for the super-rich, this season the gap will be insurmountable imho.

Us - panic then rescue 14/15th.

To go down:-

Everton - (Townsend social media)

Newcastle - (Brexit effect north east)

Burnley - (Dyche raincoat expiry)

I assume you've never been to SJP, their support is woeful. The only time there's a decent atmosphere is when they play SAFC.

The same 3 that come up likely to go back down.

I think Watford are cerys, Norwich dont seem much better (possibly worse) than before. Brentford have the best chance of survival with their sheer enthusiasm for being in the PL. Similar to what Sheef Utd and Huddersfoeld did, though and season is the issue.

If Brentford did stay up, that means an existing PL club goes.

If would be fearful for Newcastle, if Willock doesnt rediscover his form. Southampton could be in trouble without Ings. Brighton still haven't signed a goalscorer. Also, I think Wolves could run into trouble as this new manager is unknown.

If I had to choose one - Southampton.

I admit that I have never been to SJP but I have always harboured the impression of an area a real 'Hotbed' of football with fans (Large attendances) vocally and vociferously supporting their team in the stadium.

Newcastle supporters whom I have met have really been passionate about their club, some with voices like a depth charge or a Dogger Bank foghorn.

Would tend to agree on paper. No championship clubs seemed to spend a lot to get promotion last season as they were all cash strapped due to covid and don't have a big TV deal to bail them out.

No real surprise two relegated teams came straight back up.

Haven't really been following who was signed who but;

Brighton don't seem to have signed anyone and have lost Ben White. They must be concerned.

With a lot of departures, new young signings and new manager we are somewhat of an unknown quantity. Its going to be harder than last season but I think we should be better than the 4 teams listed above.

We should be in a mini division of Wolves, Southampton, Leeds, Burnley, and Newcastle.

10th would be a fantastic achievement. 15th acceptable. 14th/15th would be more palatable than previous seasons as we are clearly building for the future again.

I expect a poor start. Rebuilding the team and changing the way we play in the most unforgiving league in the world is a bit daunting but...
If we hold our nerve and stick to the game plan we should accumulate enough points to survive comfortably by the end.
For me its the 3 that came up to go straight back down.

There's virtually always one of the promoted teams going straight back down again, often two of them (as last season), so choosing 2 of the promoted teams is good bet. I fancy Brentford to be the one to survive. Who goes down with Watford and Norwich is a difficult one. At present I'd have to say Burnley look weakest of last year's PL teams.
