While I like the romance of being a plucky community club if we have to turn to foreign investment I'd rather it be an American who made his money in films than some dodgy Saudi Prince or Russian oil baron. I do share the concerns about Americans having too much of an influence, but I think the Super League fiasco will at least have created pause for thought. Today I saw a Leeds fan/journalist(?) once again rabbiting on about Gallagher's lack of ambition in choosing us. Right now we're probably showing more ambition than most and we seem to be doing it sensibly and with a clear plan. Welcome aboard Mr Textor. May your heart be large and your pockets deep

While I like the romance of being a plucky community club if we have to turn to foreign investment I'd rather it be an American who made his money in films than some dodgy Saudi Prince or Russian oil baron. I do share the concerns about Americans having too much of an influence, but I think the Super League fiasco will at least have created pause for thought.

Today I saw a Leeds fan/journalist(?) once again rabbiting on about Gallagher's lack of ambition in choosing us. Right now we're probably showing more ambition than most and we seem to be doing it sensibly and with a clear plan.

I think the timing of the announcement signals the end of any more significant acquisitions. A lone signing to go but that’s it. Wouldn’t want to advertise additional funds pushing up the price of a player.

I'm positive that we might be unexpected surprise package this season, but you're right that recent seasons have made us look somewhat unattractive to the neutral. I do hate the way after one season back in the PL Leeds' fans are acting as if they're a big club again. Take Biesla away and their squad really isn't that great and would likely struggle near the bottom.

Rudi was questioning in an earlier post exactly what shareholding Textor would have. It seems from reports that it will be the same 18% as the other three; hence, there has presumably been some dilution of shareholdings from other minority shareholders many of whom are US based from memory. So, I assume c72% of the club will be owned by the 4 partners moving forward with the balance in the hands of minority investors. One other aspect re the announcement that I thought was interesting was reference to the development of the ground which has gone very quiet over recent times no doubt reflecting the financial realities of Covid etc. If he can help move this project along, his investment could be really significant beyond the current injection of funds.

Rudi was questioning in an earlier post exactly what shareholding Textor would have. It seems from reports that it will be the same 18% as the other three; hence, there has presumably been some dilution of shareholdings from other minority shareholders many of whom are US based from memory.
So, I assume c72% of the club will be owned by the 4 partners moving forward with the balance in the hands of minority investors.
One other aspect re the announcement that I thought was interesting was reference to the development of the ground which has gone very quiet over recent times no doubt reflecting the financial realities of Covid etc. If he can help move this project along, his investment could be really significant beyond the current injection of funds.

It seems they provided the cash for the spending spree in January 2016, then have the capital to underwrite the construction of the new stand. Textor, seems to be an innovator and has a similar background to Parish. Less money than Harris/Blitzer, but more of a hands on interest in helping grow the club. We've spent a fair bit this window considering there's been no crowds for 18 months. I'd assume Textor has help put forward funds for this. With clubs generally short on cash, now seems as good a time as any invest.

I think a 4 way split in ownership will suit SP, who on the whole has been fantastic for our club. He doesn’t always get it right but he has earned my trust and this news is a positive indication of our ambition. I haven’t been this excited for a season in a long time. COYP!

I don't think that it works that way as you can't issue shares to the major shareholders without offering them to the smaller shareholders too
