I found the televised toss quite amusing. Ben Stokes said quite straight faced that there had been eleven changes from the last team then when asked who the debutants were couldn't remember them all

It took England just under 22 overs to overhaul their score so the paying public expecting to watch 100 overs of cricket managed to see just over half of that

Wales. Was bound to rain in a bit.
They should be glad they saw any cricket.

pakistan need to work on their batting and fielding. Too easy for England. Mahmood looks like the finished article as a fast bowler now. Faster, can bowl around 90, impressive subtle seam movement and the odd bit of swing. Good control on line and length. He won't get in the Test side but perhaps should.

I think Mahmood has improved and probably deserves a place in the Ashes squad.

Mahmoud looked good - not convinced by Carse yet although he batted well enough. I’d like to see Garton get a chance.
