Pardon my ignorance but I thought one of the reasons why people in Hong Kong have been protesting is that they believe the Hong Kong government are just a bunch of Quislings for the Chinese government. As Hong Kong is not a nation I assume that Peking is responsible for all external affairs. Just a thought.

What autonomy they have or had will very much fall more and more in line with that of the Chinese government. Their battle has been lost. Must be rather damaging to the national psyche really. No wonder some want to call it quits and move here (rather than stop us from visiting there).

I understand the Chinese puppet government in Hong Kong have vowed to fill in the gaps of their national security law, this no doubt has been at the request of the CCP.

Hong Kong, assuming anyone were able to travel freely, would be battling among other desirable destinations, such as Afghanistan and Yemen.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

China's President Xi Jinping has warned that foreign powers will "get their heads bashed" if they attempt to bully or influence the country. He delivered a defiant speech at an event marking the centenary of the ruling Communist Party on Thursday. Mr Xi also said Beijing would not allow "sanctimonious preaching", in remarks widely seen as directed at the US. So there.

We should all be sanctioning them and then looking for compensation for their f***ing virus.
