Ball twist I know someone that happened to. He was understandably light on the details but said it was agony. No surprise there.

With this happening, I feel for Caster Semenya and the global witch hunt for her disqualification from female athletics. However, I'm sure if Laurel Hubbard was participating in a higher profile Olympic sport, and not one which is historically tarnished with drug abuse this might bot be happening. It's hard to know what the best outcome is here. If Hubbard wins that would be unjust to the female competitors, but at the same time might spur on change to make female sports 'women only' on account of the clear advantage M2Fs have. If she loses, some will claim that it means trans athletes don't have an advantage (which is inaccurate, plus this individual is a good couple of decade+ older than most competitors and so isn't the most extreme example) and it might usher in further repeats of this down the line.

Now you need to go on the naughty step with J K Rowling, you are implying trans women are not female. Who would have thought we would ever need to consider making female sports women only. It's strange times in which we find ourselves Originally posted by BlueJay

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

However, fairness doesn't equal fantasy. If a woman trains her whole life to achieve her dream, I'm not eager to give a high five to someone who hops onto the girl bus 2/3 down the road. Sure, I appreciate that nature has its quirks, and I would never be an asshole about someones person challenges or decisions if that's what they need to do. There are certain biological realities though, and I'm also never going to be cheering on this person, much in the same way that I wouldn't be doing so for a (former) man giving a beating to a woman in a boxing ring. If anything she damaged her cause. I would expect even most trans people cringe at the attention someone forcing their way into these competitions causes. It's not ability; it's self indulgence.
