Another indicator of today's throw-away culture. Quickie divorces and disposable children.
Long gone are the days when people used to do a proper job, with a tied potato sack and big rocks chucked in a deep river. That was the accepted way to decently dispose of unwanted pets, children and wives.

Now it seems our superfluous belongings are subject to prolonged extreme cruelty, when ownership becomes a chore, and they ultimately can't bring themselves to do the job properly.

The perpetrators need some kind of rehabilitation at a Guantanamo Bay facility.

I remember in the early 80s i went to my aunts cottage in Wales.
1 of her (many) ferile cats had yet more kittens.
She said she was going to drown the litter in the well on her property.
i thought she was joking, a bit of dark welsh humour.
She werent....

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

I've heard similar stories. God only knows how such a callous behaviour 'caught on' if you will. I guess it's the 'out of sight, out of mind' angle. No thought for the suffering caused.

Domestic/feral cats are the only other creature (other than humans) that I have seen willfully injure and taunt an animal , then kill it purely for the enjoyment.

feral cats are pretty scary.
had an intoduction about 15 yrs ago in south croydon.
thing got in clients house and killed one of their cats.
working outside it had to be f***ed off with a broom but was not having it, really nasty creature.
