What a coincidence. That is just how I see you. Still, you do fulfil the role of court jester very well, so keep up the good work Taillefer. If I eat any more chocolate biscuits there won't be room for the eggs! Tweedledum joining Tweedledee in supporting their great leader is as predictable as the sun rising in the east.

I am astounded that more people are not worried about what this will bring and are sleepwalking into a dystopian future. No it's not because that isn't what the WEF is calling for at all. All you are doing is repeating the conspiracy theory of those who believe the pandemic has been manipulated by some kind of international cooperation to take control of people. It is of course complete bs. It's just so implausible as to be dismissed as ridiculous. The world doesn't work that way. The very fact that the WEF is calling for a worldwide effort to rebuild whilst making it an opportunity to address bigger problems tends to confirm that. Don't that let you stop believing all the nonsense you can find these days on the web if it makes you happy. There won't be a "dystopian" future in the western democracies. There will be a willing acceptance of the need for more information and cooperation to ensure what we have seen these past 12 months has taught us enough lessons to avoid a similar situation causing as many problems. That's what needs resetting, along with taking climate change seriously.

You and I will not agree on this as we did not over the huge personal and economic cost of lockdown and your lack of empathy to those affected - and as usual your go to response is to cry “conspiracy theory”.

I am not the least bit interested in "cards". Unless they apply to me. None of my sarcastic remarks have been directed towards you as, although there are some political differences between us, you always conduct respectful discussions and avoid the personal insults that so contaminate the contributions from some others. As we are also on the same page over the pandemic I am putting a plank over that river and inviting you to meet me in the middle.

More conspiracy theory. You are crying wolf! There just won't be any "government mandated medicine". It will always be your choice whether to accept a treatment, or not. What may well happen is that there will be a way for businesses to be able to reassure the bulk of their customers that they control who is using their space. That will start with the airlines and may well spread further. To what degree remains unknown and will depend upon necessity and demand. It will then be for the individual to decide, not government, what is most important to them. And you are also totally wrong on any lack of empathy on my behalf for those impacted economically by the pandemic. I understood this very well and argued for them to be supported. Which, in the main, they have. Whenever we are faced with two undesirable choices the least worst one needs to be made and then those affected by it supported. What was done was right, in my opinion.

Please reread the abusive ad hominem comments made by you earlier in this thread. It must be cold up there on your hypocritical lofty perch. I'm with Stirling.

He then tosses out right-wing insults as though that somehow diminishes them, although he reserves his most venomous comments for just a couple of us. It's both pathetic and quite amusing. Pot and kettle come to mind
