He was certainly an old school Gentleman and if you lived through and fought in WW2 then that makes you see life differently - it must do.

If the C of E wants to know why their congregations are falling maybe it's because of idiots like this.

Despite national calls for unity all I see is actions which promote disunity. I noticed on Holby City the other night that one of the black nurses got to refer to a white patient as a white supremacist but no justification was provided whatsoever within the story line other than a tattoo of a Union Jack and the inference was that the guy was guilty of being a racist without even being questioned. Promoting this kind of television is just wrong and the wokes are stoking a fire that they probably shouldn’t. Another one for the defund the BBC thread I reckon. Sorry, don’t want to derail this thread as it’s about a genuine patriot. RIP Tom. Edited by Eaglecoops (04 Feb 2021 8.47am)

I saw this as a piece of sordid political opportunity by boris where he sought to make capital from the death of a national hero. However this vicar needs to have his rear end kicked from lands end to John o groats for this idiocy. It's not only silly it's wrong.

Edited by Eaglecoops (04 Feb 2021 8.47am) I heard last Saturday or the one before, David Lammy host LBC with one of the subjects being ‘What is some’ or something. There was a young black female sitting in the supermarket car park phoning in to say whatever and that ‘’Churchill was a racist, he aged us from the Nazis, but so what, people need to get over it. He was a racist and blah blah wah wah wah.’’ Lammy of course loved her call and said he looks forward to her generation effectively being in charge and this kind of thing. I hope it’s after my time or I’m living somewhere else where I can watch them fvck it all up.

Yes, i have to agree, great photo call for boris, although all other leaders did to, but obviously can"t get left out. I hate all these organised clapping events, so had my thoughts for the good old guy but don"t feel the need to be seen sharing them. Some bloke a few doors up was shouting "you"ll never walk alone" over and over, i thought the worlds gone absolutely mad!

All I ever saw it for was his generation’s approach and view of life. Nothing racial or jingoistic whatsoever. These people are obsessed with their battle of equality (of outcome).

Still, there is a line where it all gets a bit weird from some....like talk about statues. It reminds me of the 'Diana' stuff....a complete loss of reserve. I"M interested as to where you could go, you might have trouble settling in europe permenantly, depending on your qualifications, and the old Aussie/New Zealand bolt holes aren"t that easy, were you thinking of Asia perhaps? It"s not a bad idea, got a few mates settled in Thailand and are the happiest they have been in life, ironically, the same blokes you would have thought wouldn"t get past a beano in Southend , back in the day.
