It is very reasonable for Macron to allow us into France subject to testing. Imagine if this goes wrong and the mutant strain is imported into his country from England. As far as inbound to England is concerned, one would not expect Johnson to have any arrangements in place anyway. He is still living in his world of detachment from reality and baseless optimism. The very definition of a brexiteer.

Why would a bank call in its debt on everyone? Well, it won"t as long as you are paying over the top in interest, but when people have no work, or zero hour crap, and can"t afford to pay the bank, they call the loan in, take your car or what ever they can, living on credit isn"t living in reality. And the uncertain job market and zero hour stuff will only make the repayments harder for a lot of people, not boris or his chums obviously, they have done very very well out of covid. Even chancellor richie, with his 2 billion in the bank, (2000 million for anyone who can"t do the math), wouldn"t answer the journalists question about has he made any cash from the ppe scandal, billions spent on sub standard rubbish by companies owned or part owned by the CONS, very nice business indeed! Hrolf will say it"s just jealousy on my part, I would counter it"s a scandal that needs investigating and heads to roll, insider trading if you like, cronyism for sure.

Macron has Le Pen breathing down his neck with an election next year, If the EU concedes to the UK over fishing rights then he will have another Gilets Jaunes on his hands at the worst possible time. Macron is clearly getting desperate and this is a pretty weak attempt at forcing Britain to back down over negotiations, in reality all he is doing is punishing the drivers of these trucks and their families - the majority of which are EU members.
The mountains are calling & I must go. |

Operation Stack has been running for years why are there no toilet / shower facilities and hot food which can be brought online when required. I feel sorry for those drivers most of them will be stuck here over Christmas it's not there fault they deserve to be treated better. And on the subject of Operation Stack I note that a new parking facility for Brexit will come online in February! nice planning by whatever idiot came up with that. That should have been in place during the summer. I wont be asking Boris to organise my party at the local brewery. I just noticed that some of the drivers are kicking off with the police I would make it clear to them any trouble and you are banned from the UK. Edited by Badger11 (23 Dec 2020 9.34am) Why has it been left to charities as far afield as Birmingham and Coventry to send down food parcels to the truckers ? Another example of pi55 poor Governance.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Yes, pi55 poor indeed, good at making lots of lolly for themselves though, not poor at that side of the game.On another note, the no toilet or washing facilities, for 5000 drivers, in a pandemic, when the clearest message has been, wash your hands, is kind of ironic!

It's political more than anything really. Effectively we're being punished for having world leading genomic sequencing technology. Mututions exist the world over.

I wonder if the truckers having a go at our police, will do the same when they reach France? Let’s be honest this debacle is firmly at Macrons door. Absolutely a political move
