Not overrated, but Maradonna was the best footballer. He won the World Cup and got to the next final with an average Argentina team.
The World Cup is the acid test, Messi and Ronaldo have never performed there, Pele has, but with a good team.

yes, Maradona best ive seen, Ronaldo second, both could almost carry the team on there own

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Not forgetting Maradona also won the league twice with Napoli.

Come on guys: not the spelling police but at least spell his name right!

Of course we should have but did not win that 74 final and he stayed at home for the 78 world cup, reportedly fearing personal safety. Magnificent player, even in his late career when I was lucky enough to see saw him play a few times. Totally uncompromising as a coach too, style and attacking football coming before results.

Kruyf is probably the one who would stand the best chance of doing it in all decades. Ahead of his time. You look at that Dutch team and everything about them looked years ahead.

All on 20 fags a day. Fantastic acceleration. Top 5 easily.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Pele was good.

But barely worthy to tie the bootlaces of Maradona or Kruyf.

Kayla did Anfield & Old Trafford

Not even top 3 for me.

Good player...but not hard to be in a Barcelona team with superstars playing in a crap league.

What about Champions league?

Yeah...and that's a fair point. And I'm definitely not suggesting he's not a fantastic player. He is. I just reckon there have been better.
