Cherry picking... "At the same time, the polling shows a high degree of loyalty to Britain, with 95 per cent saying they feel loyal, and 93 per cent saying British laws should always be obeyed." The fact they disagree with images of the prophet and thus understand the motives doesn't mean they're coming to blow you up. I guarantee they couldn't give a flying monkeys about you! I'm also not hiding from the fact that the vast majority of terror attacks have been conducted by Muslims in the past decade or so in the UK. I'm just saying that lazy statements about the entire Muslim faith don't help address the real issues and further divide our already fractured society. The poor keep getting poorer and they blame the Muslims, not the right wing government who are looking after themselves yet getting voted in time and again by the very people they're fleecing. I would have bet money (although not allowed under islam law) ironically; that politics would end up being the problem. It's that damn stupid book that muslims beleive to be life that's the problem.

I'm not an expert on it - I've always suspected it has different versions and different interpretations from different strands of Islam. However, I could be totally wrong.

It's not a trade off. It's the reality of human history. Human beings are migratory animals. It is possibly one of our greatest adaptations: only really bacteria in terms of living organisms inhabit every single ecosystem on the planet. We have spread from the basin of Africa to every single corner of the world, and have often done so multiple times. You either deal with it, or you end up with thousands of people taking the journey illegally, who you have no idea about in terms of character, who are potentially unhinged. We choose not to deal with it, and thus get the rotten end of the stick. So why arnt they going to China or other countries rather than the west?

Conflict between 'communities' with different cultures and sets of 'values' is inevitable.

What I don't like is the media constantly pushing the 'showing cartoons of Mohammed' narrative. He was hardly ridiculing Islam - he was teaching core values. Sadly these people want violent ones. I suspect there will be a few fires and skirmishes in Paris tonight. We won't be told though. I trust people such as the British Muslim Council have publicly condemned this attack.

More arrests this evening including kids who apparently were paid to point out this teacher. The French are going to come down on this in a big way. The notion of a secular education system is at the very core of their Republican ethos. With the silence from the usuallyl noisey elements of the British left here absolutely disgusting. They truly are the real manifesation of a 21st century 5th column.
