I think that is what the fans fear. The so called owners (disputed) may now cut and run this is Portsmouth mark 2.

I feel sorry for any club that goes through this but my feelings are coloured by our experience. When we went bust I had to endure the constant jeers and cheers of someone who worked for Charlton. Up until then I had thought he was an okay guy passionate about his club but his childish behaviour was like a six year old.

My friends are mostly Charlton and Millwall fans we have been around the block too many times so we know that clubs of our size have good days and bad days so we accept that as part of football.

Anyway back to the dick when Charlton got relegated from the Premier League he lost his job at the club unfortunately for me I haven't seen him in years so couldn't commiserate with him for his job loss and their current woes

When I was a boy Charlton was the other club that dad took us to when Palace were away. I don't hate them and I won't be taking the mickey out of my Charlton mates.

It could easily be us god know who are new owners will be I just hope that they get decent owners soon.

Those last two paragraphs are my feelings as well - a few of my friends now and in the past are Charlton fans / followers. Could easily of been us and may be some time in the future :-(

So momentous events last night in the Championship as promotion and relegation matters were settled, or were they. So after the games I turned into Talksport to listen to what the pundits were saying especially about the relegation situation.

What I got was a big love in with the scousers including a live commentary of the celebrations at Anfield "and here come the fireworks"

Now I don't begrudge Liverpool their moment of glory but they won the title several weeks ago so last night was a just an organised party for their fans.

Why on enough did Talksport deem it more interesting "here come the players waving to the fans (empty stadium)" than actually discussing the big issues of the night.

Anyway I gave up and turned off the radio well done Talksh*te.

Absolutely agree with you Badger, all the media outlets were doing the same.

Not to make this a political thread but it's the same with all the 'woke' bo***cks now. There's no interest in actually providing the news they just pander to certain audiences.

Huge and very dramatic and entertaining day in the football calendar and I had to drill into news outlets to get read ups on what had happened on Championship final day, beyond the Liverpool love in, pathetic.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Despite what they try to promote, they are only really interested in the big clubs. They will have a Leeds love in as well. The more I listen to Jim White the more I realise what an arrogant t**t he is, everyone is a friend of the show, he has endless “sources”. Looked stupid when he was cozying up to Mel Morris of Derby, who then is instigated in possible wrong doings. Natalie Sawyer has a very sexy voice though!

Indeed Lady Luck has intervened on our side we could easily have gone out of business altogether.

In their day Charlton were a top club and had one attendance of 75,000 people.

I saw Tom Finney play there as a little boy and the local hero Sam Bartram in goal, we caught the bus from Crystal Palace Parade and sat on the top steps with sandwiches and pop - paradise......

You would need an enormous influx of cash now to get only a fleeting amount of success, it is such a gamble.

Way over the top their love-in with Liverpool and it ruined my evening trying to keep up with the excitement in the championship.

Last season Charlton were promoted to the Championship via the play-offs after finished 3rd in League One.
The previous season they finished 6th in League One but lost in the play-offs.

This season in the Championship they spent just £200K on 1 player, Bonne, and recovered £2 Mill when they sold Dijksteel to Middlesbrough so Lee Bowyer has hardly been backed in the transfer window.

And that is the problem first the Belgium and then the others have taken money out of the club, nobody is putting it in.

They have a transfer embargo.

Unfortunately for their fans, the ownership of the club has turned into a farce. In fact it's difficult to see how any one party is responsible for its day to day operation.

Duchatelet still owns the stadium and training ground ( sound familiar ? ) and any prospective buyers are obliged to purchase those from him.

Their relegation won't do their cause any good, and Administration and points deduction next season, distinct possibilities, could see them wind up in L2 soon.

Although that may be just wishful thinking on my behalf

Delighted they were relegated? After being at the Valley on last day in 2005... ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED!

Wish administration and therefore potential extinction on them (or anyone else)? Having endured 2000 and 2010... NEVER.

George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....?
