To my mind, the reason he was able to play better yesterday was that he seemed to have been given a freer role. I've said before, he shouldn't be kept in a strait-jacket on the left wing but allowed to have a free rein because it's far more difficult for 2/3 players to mark him in that scenario.

For a while now I have felt that Zaha in a freer role would prove more effective for the reasons you have stated. I watched Brentford the other day and Benrahma was moved from his normal position down the left into a central role in the second half and he was able to get on the ball and make things happen for his team.

Because he's one of our we love him more but he isn't as good as we think he is. He wouldn't even get into Southamptons team who have a far better player than him in Redmond I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but just to clarify , Nathan Redmond is not a better player than Wilfried Zaha

I agree with think he will get more space to play his game in the BL and if he goes to Munich then that may help his other ambition to play in CL. The price as you rightly say is not going to anywhere near what was being offered last year, I can see price being more than 30-40 range at best due to his poor form this year! Don’t think Bayern would buy him but Dortmund on the other hand....

I think it's in everyone's interest that Zaha leaves in the forthcoming window. It's also entirely possible that all the speculation about his future has in some way unsettled the rest of the squad which could, in some way, explain our frequently less than stellar performance during the season. Just a hypothesis, mind.

What we need is some better players to take the pressure of him so every pass we try to play is not to him.

The issue with Zaha, is he isn't being used properly.. do other clubs and managers know this, the good ones, the ones who research and care, do... Is Wilf a gamble?? depends on the price. north of 40, that's a gamble... 30/35 is the going rate I would say. A top club, bring wilf on with 30 to go, he can change the game. Would he be the kind of signing for a club like wolves, Everton, even shef utd that want to reinforce that europa spot? Maybe so... I can't see him going abroad and I can't see him staying in the uk to warm the bench or not win anything... my hunch..... Chelsea or Arsenal for around 35 mil or a swap deal... Parish should have sold last summer for 45 mil.

Parish should have sold last summer for 45 mil. Parish would have been crucified if he accepted Arsenal’s offer of £45 mil spread over about 7 transfer windows. The only offer we got for Zaha. While I said we should sell him because I thought he’d sulk or not apply himself fully in today’s player power game, we didn’t get anywhere near the £60-65 mil I thought he was worth. I don’t even think Everton put a bid in, including the rumoured £52 mil. The real error is us never really addressing delivering results without him. That’s caused this. If we had a threat through the middle we wouldn’t constantly do the same thing out wide, needing Zaha to do it.
