"Shoving the same message down their throats for weeks". This broke in the news 6 days ago. Obviously the more to the right they are the less likely they are to sack him, he's a Tory advisor! The assertion that this is just a few people trying to stir trouble (lefties, remainers or whoever else we want to try and blame this on) is palpably false. The majority of the population, the majority of brexit voters and an almost even split of Tory voters think he should resign. As I said, if there was an apology and an admittance of guilt, fine. Instead, we get barefaced lies and assertions that "reasonable people" will agree this is a non issue. In reality people across the political spectrum disagree. All very depressing. Edited by IMpalace (28 May 2020 11.53am) They either don't think they've done anything wrong or see saying sorry as a sign of weakness. It's really quite sociopathic.

A ‘minor breach.’ The same minor breach all the labour MP’s made. If he’s for the death penalty then they are too.

To those defending him, does anyone actually believe that in order to test his eye sight he packed his wife and 5 year old into a car and drove round for an hour and a half with them? Does the barefaced lie to the public not bother you? I agree that the lockdown breach was relatively minor and unlikely to have had a major impact, but it really bothers me to watch him treat us all like f*cking idiots and expect us to believe what is obviously a lie. As I said, having to accept obvious lies removes accountability from anyone's actions and is something I desperately hoped would remain on the other side of the pond's political sphere. As for your apparent faith in UK politics.....eh? . Who has been this honest politician you've grown so use to? Edited by Stirlingsays (28 May 2020 2.07pm)

He might have meant testing his health and fitness to drive 260 miles by driving 30 mins for a stop and 30 mins back.

Politicians are liars and always have been, however, to me there is a difference between policy changes, falling through on things you said you would do and all the other junk that you typically have in politics and somebody telling you to believe something that is nigh on impossible to believe. The thing that bothers me is that him and Boris must know nonbody is going to believe this, they just don't care. It's like I'm in 1984. Doublethink is not something I am used to.
