I know what you mean, I think the muscle size has to reach a certain point until that amount of blood does that....and the old steroids certainly help with bulking the size, if not tendon tissue quality. When I was heavily into the weights and pumped a muscle to failure....all I'd get is pain especially on pyramid setting,

I envy you. Had three weeks off last year after half dropping a barbell on my chest (perils of bench pressing with bursitis in the shoulder and no spotter) and that was long enough. I never bench press anywhere near my limit without a spotter for that very reason.

I don't think Arnold denies taking steroids but certainly, at a certain stage of training, you realise that it is not possible to compete in terms of physique or strength with those who do.

Wise words. The area that is causing me to stop every so often to the point I think it’s not worth it is my knees. Usually my left. I don’t deadlift because I don’t want to put my back out so stick to the leg press. I can do a heavy amount for my size and do it properly unlike most people. But the pain starts to kick in after however many sessions or weeks and I’m forever going in a cycle of on and off. I can’t seem to find something or weight/reps that the knee doesn’t shout what the fvck are you doing this unnatural and unnecessary s*** for? You then spend your time making sure you lead up or down steps on the other leg and think I’ll just leave doing leg presses.

I’ve just remembered in ‘Good Will Hunting’ when Matt Damon tells Robin Williams how much he benches, asks Robin Williams and he top trumps him. Classic.

What about lunges with fixed feet and your knees kept strictly over your ankles?
