Had this idea, but probably needs a bit of work. This season is frozen until this time next year or slightly earlier then restarted so that the games are roughly being played at the right time of the year. Then if this goes on through the summer it wouldn't be a problem.
Then there are the outside people - club caterers for example - friendlies and minis wouldn't generate enough income to be worthwhile for them probably. No idea what the solution should be, but a 12 month suspension of the leagues probably isn't a good answer.

Thanks Eagleman. Right on cue, Thai has just issued its cancellation list for the period to 30th June only but which includes the flights we are planning to take in July ..... Originally posted by eagleman13
IMilburn, if you've only booked flights only, they are NOT ATOL protected & if your insurance already wont pay out, as someone else has stated, you could claim with your CC/DC provider

There is no fair solution other than putting the league into deep freeze until it's safe to play again, and then resuming to get remaining fixtures completed.

Still think the season will be voided. Clubs will have players out of contract. Small Squads Like ours will be disadvantaged by having to complete multiple games in small windows. Can't give Liverpool the title and not relegate teams, thats just plain daft and will leave the premiership open to mass litigation by teams that fought to stay up and spent money in the window for playing staff, when the needn't have bothered. Making the League a 22 team league will lead to fixture pile up's the likes of which we have all seen before, and obviously the winter break will have to be chinned off. You can't say that's that. league positions are as at now. Promote and relegate accordingly. Again that would lead to the premiership having it's arsed sued into non-existence by the relegated clubs. Only fair way, is to void the season It sucks for Liverpool and clubs like Sheff Utd. I just don't see any other option that doesn't have knock on effects for years to come.

I wish they’d done their premature celebration again. I suppose it was so certain this time and further away to the end of the season rather than getting all excited before Gerrard slipped v chelsea.

Can it really be fair if it sucks for some and not for others? How about: Play the remaining games of this season by autumn 2020 Start the 2020/2021 season in December 2020 / January 2021, and run it until Euro 2020 which could be held in Autumn 2021 Start the 2021/2022 season in December 2021 / January 2022 and run it until the Qatar World Cup in November 2021 Start the 2022/2023 season in January 2023, but have a truncated season to end in say June 2023. The rules for this season could be developed in advance (for example each team only playing the others once, with maybe some play-offs at the end of the season to confirm final placings) but each team would have a clear understanding of the rules before that season starts. Then back on the normal schedule for 2023/2024. Only fair way, is to void the season It sucks for Liverpool and clubs like Sheff Utd. I just don't see any other option that doesn't have knock on effects for years to come.

there was some talk on Talksport this morning about finishing the season - the prem and EFL could in a couple of months have games between tested players behind closed doors - there's no reason why they couldn't play twice a week, stagger it and televise it for free, keep us all going
