What we are witnessing are people, who for varying reasons, are going along with worst case scenarios presented as most likely. Europe is not driving climate change and it won't be in the future either. However, it's where you find most of the virtue signallers....that's for sure.

I am not a Climate Change denier however scientists rely on funding to do their research. I expect that there is plenty of money from governments and NGO's for research into climate change (virtue signaling to the voters). It's rather like the Race Relations Industry the people who rely on that funding to earn a living are bound to find evidence that the problem is getting worse and needs more.... funding. I am all in favour of of reducing our dependency on oil and gas as I do not want this country to be in hock to the dodgy regimes that supply us. If that helps improve air pollution and carbon emissions fine by me. I draw a line when scientists start saying we should wear a hair shirt whilst other countries carry on regardless (Our economy should not suffer to make Greta feel good). As for the Greens they oppose Heathrow expansion because air travel is very polluting and then they oppose high speeds rail travel which is the practical alternative to flying, I pay no attention to these people who are against everything and for nothing.

Excellent points sir. Moving towards a future without fossil fuels is just commonsense.....However, what is being pushed isn't only crazy it's fantasy land. Yet it holds prominence in the media and has huge financial backing and lobbying.....whee does all that funding come from I wonder? Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Mar 2020 9.25am)

I've been hearing this for well over 40yrs yet globalisation on a scale never seen before was 'allowed' to happen. Why? 2. I've always understood it as us humans being part of many climate issues, not the sole contributor?

All the major banks are gearing up for financing this as it just amounts to a huge tax grab on the western world (which is why it's being pushed). Just look at the cost of replacing every gas boiler in the UK and the associated revenue. Then the huge cost of providing inefficient "clean" power. Then the cost of replacing all cars with electric, making every house heat efficient etc. It's endless and even all this would only shave part of a percentage off global emissions (ignoring the emissions relating to manufacture and shipping etc). After all this ask yourself if you think Greta and Extinction Rebellion really are a grass roots movement and who is really pushing all this. At best they are useful idiots for the globalists.

Greta started protesting on her own outside the Swedish Parliament 2 years ago. She's virtually the definition of a grass roots movement.
