I think the consensus on Holmesdale is that we would prefer Eduard at Celtic, but if £18m is the asking price, presumably it could be negotiated down to £12-15m?

It could be that Palace like him because of his flexibility as he can play in a number of positions, winger, striker or no 10. He could be great as a goal scoring wideman

£18m is the buyout clause for OW that became activated after last night's result, so we can't negotiate down...or are you saying Edouard is priced at £18m as well?

But Brentford don't have to accept a lower price. I can see us trying to shave a few million off and someone like Villa coming in and saying they'll pay the full release amount and we'll lose out yet again.

If we really want him I suspect we will need to pay the full £18 million.

Because we dither and won't offer a sensible price so others come in and do the business instead and we're left with those that nobody else really wants.

I've seen him linked with about 7 premiership club's today, I could put links up to them too.

I've seen Leeds, West Ham, West Brom, Aston Villa fans think they've already signed him, Southampton.

This guy is in demand, and I'd love us to get him, but I don't think we will.

But which club has triggered the release clause OR is the fact that Brentford failed to get promotion that has activated it? It may also be a question of whether any clubs are willing to offer MORE than £18 million.
