It’s a similar story at music or comedy shows where most of the audience seem incapable of lasting 10 minutes without a plastic glass of warm lager. Ironically they’re probably the same people who go to pubs to eat rather than drink. I do find it odd, and I love your last sentence. In my Apollo II story, I forgot to mention that the start time of the movie was 11:15 am. I was still full from my morning porridge!

But why do they sell stuff that’s so bloody noisy to eat. Ice cubes rattling, straws slurping, sweets in noisy plastic bags, no point in going if you can’t hear the film

When the pubs shut at 2.30pm we would all pile into the snooker club (mainly to carry on drinking)

I have already mentioned that I have NO interest whatsover in watching films and this has always been the case. I recall, probably in the early 80s, agreeing under sufferance to seeing 'Airplane' (Leslie Neilson) with my girlfriend and her mother at the Odeon,Beckenham. Before hand we visited the pub opposite (Cannot recall it's name). I was so enjoying my tipple that I decided to remain in the establishment and the pair went to see the film without me.I certainly wasn't popular at all ! Edited by Willo (27 Sep 2019 4.34pm)
