I thank you for the link.

Reprehensible behaviour by louts and hoodlums, many of which could well be described as intellectual vacuums.I raise my hat towards the Police officer for taking robust action against such reprobates.

I'm in total agreement, Willo. A disgusting display, dealt with using an appropriate level of force.

Two words , LONGER STICKS or PEPPER SPRAY

I can't remember any previous from our stewards ( who are not perfect and it's a thankless job ) really initiating trouble so am blaming the self entitled VIlla fans at the front

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I'm sure the irony of someone in the US actually complaining about the behaviour of the police in the UK isn't lost on anyone. That corner of the ground is just yards from the Family Stand so decisive action was more than justified. If those idiots had got onto the pitch it wouldn't have been so that they could enter into a reasoned discussion with the referee about his decision.

So because yank police are sh*t, Americans can’t complain when our police are too? What kind of logic is that?

Not that I’m saying this particular officer was out of line, more that I don’t agree with your point about Americans not being able to criticise our police.

Oh well, never mind, I expect you'll get over it

Jonny Gould, the director of the club's Supporter Trust tweeted: "I’ve talked to @avfcofficial about this. The club is very concerned by the behaviour of the stewarding and the police officer and have asked any fans affected to contact Lee Preece at #avfc

I'd be more concerned with the behaviour of their moronic fans...

Wont hold out much hope for our fans in the away game Sat 25th April(subject to change). Our trips to Villa Park haven't always been kind, for all sorts of reasons & I don't see this being any different, on or OFF the field.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

By all accounts this officer has previous history with Palace fans including intimidation and harrasment. From what I read elsewhere he had to take a break from policing at SP because the police had to pay out £30k in compensation to innocent fans caught up in his madness. If this is true and this is his comeback then it shows that nothing has changed

Just out of interest what did he do wrong then in your opinion?

Obviously I am only going by the footage, it looks disproportionate to what seems to be going on. The villa fan who is already restrained seems to be hit over and over with the baton when there seemed no need for it.
Again I am only going by the footage and don;t know the overall picture but am just reporting the history from what I read on facebook

I would have liked to have seen some tear gas used along with the odd taser thrown into the mix, then whilst they are on the ground shaking and their eyes watering, the cherry on the top should have been the long baton.... job done...
