The following looks like a spot-on appraisal of this transfer window for Palace:

Awful but at least Parish is happy. Finally managed to sign McCarthy who's hes wanted for ages.

Must have spent loads of time together over the last couple of years whilst he's been injured!

Couldn't agree more.
Parish & Co should hang their heads in shame.
There was all the fanfare of a lovely new stand and "It's all gone quiet over there".And we have a weaker squad than last season. No newspaper headlines "Progress at the Palace".
Could get very toxic if Everton stroll to an easy victory.

A disgrace. Parish and the Board must sell up and GO.

What a terrible transfer window. Why are we getting two midfielders when we needed a right back and a striker!!! What does Freedman do??? We just went for whoever was available on the cheap and not what we needed. We’ve needed a striker for years!!! Unbelievable! This stinks of a take over!

The team situation is getting worse and worse. Even if we get really luck and manage to get 17th place this season, there is no way on earth that the holes we will have in the squad at the end of the season can be filled in one transfer window.

Everything ponts to relegation this season or next.

To be brutallyt honest, it looks like the wheels have fallen off and I fear for our future.

Based on the lack of investment and the hefty fee we received for wan bisakka you’d have to speculate that the yanks want us ran as a profitable business as opposed to an ambitious pl team that would require investment.
You’d have to say that with a spend of around £6m we should of held on to bisakka for one more season.

I also read somewhere that we’d been knocked back by augustin from rb leibzig as he wanted time to assess his options as there were a few, seems that we will never learn. If we had made our intentions clear at the beginning of the window the guy may of had longer than an hour to make a life changing decision.

I feel too much focus has been on wilf and did we ever tell Everton a figure or just keep speaking in riddles about the value of Harry maquire?

I agree wilf wants out as we aren’t going any where and lack ambition surely now we either need to seek new ownership to move to the next level or accept that it ain’t cool to stink the prem out year on year like sides like Sunderland and go down!!

Honestly a disgrace. Not signing a RB and a striker is inexcusable. the non-existent strategy at the club is beyond a joke.

If we don't get new ownership over the season I really fear for the future of the club. We've seen it all before.

Depressing but perhaps not surprising. There has been no apparent plan or strategy in the buying of players in this window but just picking up scraps as we have gone along. And, to end up without bringing in either a striker or RB is unforgiveable.

It just about sums up he haphazard and unstructured management of the club.
