Local rag (Evening Gazette) has very good links with Boro and are usually very accurate and up to date. There is zero news up here from any bid having been made. Only news is Boro are hoping to keep hold of Dael Fry and Marcus Tavernier and how Woodgate wants to bring one more in. If there were any credible talk of Assombalonga I'm certain it would at least be rumour mill up here...and it isn't.

And in fairness it is deadline day and I think we have sniffed around him in the past. So we can now guarantee that since I have said this isnt on the radar it will now happen lol

Think we got linked to him in January too but that was when Pulis was in charge at Boro who likes a more targetman, hold the ball up type of player than Britt is. Woodgate has vowed to change to a more entertaining style of play and Britt fits that profile more so I would say it is less likely now than it was in January.

Still on the Palace radar, I imagine as a back up option if a more exciting striker like Chalof doesn’t cross the line?

Really not enthused about this potential signing at all. We should be setting our sights, for a new Centre Forward, at a far higher standard than Britt Assombalonga. Indeed I’m sure we are and this may just be a back up but even so, we should be looking at much ‘better’ players full stop!
