The real irony here is that the left are so desperate to be pro Islam, however Islam cannot abide anything that the left stand for. Which exposes their hypocrisy to the whole world.

How long before gangs commit criminal/terrorist offences wearing the burka because they cannot be identified? They'd know the government is s*** scared to ban it for fear of 'Islamaphobia', yet why is it that Islamic countries such as Tunisia, Chad and Morocco do ban full/partial covering? There have been several; not particularly publicised. Islamic countries banning them is to stop terrorist activity but is seen as a breach of human rights by many. Make your own mind up on that.

Given the burka, the identity parade will be interesting.

Because the Koran only requires that both men and women dress modestly. The burkha is very much a Saudi thing I understand.

The LGBTQ v Islam intersectionality battle is fascinating. The left just cannot work out which minority group to go for. As you can see by the current Oppression League table (which the BBC swears by), it's neck and neck on goal difference! 1. Transgenders Vegans' application to the league is currently in review. 14. I appreciate the wider point you are making, Tom, but in this specific instance, surely you don't mean that only the 'left' respects the right of LGBTetc people to march/express themselves, do you?

No YT,, that wasn’t really the point I was trying to make my friend. I’m sure both the right and the left respect the LGBT community, however it’s generally only the left that are pro Islam. Many of what the left value is the polar opposite to what many Muslims believe. So the left then find themselves in an odd situation, championing a religion that is at odds with their own values. I believe this will become more and more apparent over the next few years. Of course, this like all other discussions on here which involve either politics or race, is subject to sweeping generalisations

It's hard to argue with that really. Many who are happy to berate Christianity for all its faults, do not do so with Islam. If we're honest all religions are lala land, but the less fire and brimstone and more introspective ones at least are able to build character rather than lean towards hatred or closed communities. Nothing good comes from people ideologically shutting up shop. Westbro Baptist Church being a good example of that, puritan ideology tends to only work when its isolated. The ones who were prepared to listen to the outside world ended up leaving and the ones who stayed are more "Fire and brimstone" than ever. Its probably the same with all religions, the more you explore the outside world, the more likely you are to just use your religion as a "Rough guide" rather than words to live and literally die by...
