At least you can watch England on public service broadcasting. Absolute shambles you can't watch ALL England (men) games without having sky etc etc. Something a lot more pure about the women's game even if the quality is lacking at times.

Indeed, presumably because it was inexpensive.

Many people don't know that the cricket world cup is on at the moment as live games are on Sky and highlights on C4 at midnight. The ICC or ECB, or whoever decides these things, should have gone for wider coverage over money from Sky.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

That's the luxury of multi channel choice for you.

AKA signing up to 15 different packages and buying 37 pay per view events per year!

Well, having forced myself to watch tonight's first half of England v Argentina, I can make only one comment on the equality in women's football that they seem so keen to promote:

The England women's team is to football what air guitarists are to Led Zeppelin - all the moves: none of the sounds.

Sorry, but I've seen better from Sunday League teams.

Oh and the crowning glory from the female presenter at HT
" if it hadn't been for the Argentine goalkeeper, we'd have had a couple by now" wtf?

Most of the goals being scored look like worldies because the keepers are too small to save a shot that's 2ft either side of them or over their heads.

It's like watching U11s playing in full size nets/pitches.

Surely the goal dimensions should be reigned in a bit?

Been saying this for a while .

I think most matches would be 0-0 if Men played in goal.

Im enjoying The Womens world cup this year..was thinking that the womens game has improved a lot since I last watched it.
I saw some Of the USA vs Chile last night, and I must say, that USA played very well. they look a cut above from what I've seen, and were moving the ball better than a lot of mens teams.

I don't agree that it's all that much lower in quality.. Some excellent passes and good movement.

Watching England is largely the same - all promise and no end product, struggling to break defences down..

The Goalkeeper thing is the only place there seems to be a disparity. a lot of goals are just out of reach without being in the Corners..

Women's football isn't for me....though I was ref for a company game once and they are certainly better to look at.

It's funded by the men's game as it is.....and to a certain extent I'm ok with that......but you just know what's coming down the pipe....they will ask for more and more.

Before too long you will hear those two words, 'equality' and 'equity'.

Yet it is no different to any other sport and should stand on its own two feet and pay its players proportional to the revenue it creates.....not live off the success of others.

Seriously? It’s far below League 2 standard.

The US womens team, who are by all accounts one of the best, were beaten by an under 15 boys team from Dallas - if you’re comparing it to the top levels of the men’s game, you might as well be playing a different sport.
