The latest figures apropos Conservative MPs voting intentions (Top six) :

Johnson 30, Gove 29, Hunt 29,Raab 23, Javid 17, Hancock 11.

Labour will get their advertising agencies and MP tv interview message ready for a GE if Hunt becomes leader with his dealings in the NHS.

If Hunt is against Johnson in the final two, Johnson will win as he has the majority support amongst Conservative members. In fact Johnson will win against any other candidate in a head-to-head.There is very strong support for Johnson amongst the many Tory members I have spoken to with scant little support for Hunt.

The trouble is that the members only get to vote on whoever the MPs want them to vote on and they will move heaven and earth to make sure that Boris isn't in the playoff finals

Hunt ffs. Gove?

They're all c***s anyway. Both them and Labour are f***ing atrocious.

Main stream politics is finished.

Imagine voting for Corbyn to be PM, what an absolute c*** you'd have to be. Likewise anyone from this shower of arseholes on the Tory side. And as for Cable?

Why even bother tipping out to vote.

I have to agree - how on Earth is someone as utterly incompetent as Hunt even a candidate? He couldn’t have performed much worst as Health Minister, and yet he’s got a chance at being PM - speaks volumes to the state of the two main parties at the moment.

I haven’t a clue where my next vote goes.

I’ve heard mainstream politics is dead so many times. It isn’t, and probably won’t be until FPTP is changed.

Get your money on Raab.

If the issue is the quality of MPs I am not sure changing the voting system will help.

I would prefer beefing up the qualifications to stand as an MP e.g. minimum 5 years working in the real world. The SNP had one MP who was still in the first year of her university studies what on earth did she know about life.

As for abolishing FPTP that just gives you coalition governments like Tory / Lib or Tory DUP and people are always complaining about that.

Unless you lived during WW2, we've only seen one coalition government and even that wasn't a genuine coalition as Clegg became Cameron's bitch from the start (an opportunity missed for the Lib Dems but that's another story).

One party commanding a huge majority is, in my view, unhealthy for democracy, especially when that majority has been achieved via a skewed electoral system. PR is far, far more representative and whilst it may produce more hung parliaments, it makes politicians much more accountable to the electorate and that cannot be a bad thing.

Problem is they will all "play the game".

"The game" as controlled by the MSM is the real problem because it panders to political correctness (inability to touch certain issues or use language freely mainly through fear of the press), minorities (Islam, anyone who is not white and LGBTxyz) and special interest groups (especially the climate mafia).

The reason why Trump succeeded is he refused to apologize and had the guts to go after his opponents at full tilt. Bolsonaro and Salvini are similar in that respect.

Don't think even Farage has it in him to do that so unless someone turns up who can I'm not hopeful that we avoid major civil unrest. Our natural instinct for / culture of, politeness is our undoing.
