This post has been merged from a topic called 'Nat Clyne (Rumour)' by Midlands Eagle Thought he was great for us but as others have mentioned he's got a reputation and hasn't done much for 2 years. Think he's worth the gamble but it also pains me that we keep buying all of Liverpool's cast offs for sizeable fees. If the fee was £12m based on £7 upfront and £5 based on appearances or something like that, that would be much better. £70m for Benteke, Sakho and Clyne plus the best part of £25m in wages

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

We are becoming as you suggest a benevolent society for ex Liverpool players.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Nat Clyne (Rumour)' by Midlands Eagle That he’s ex-Palace is irrelevant. He was s fantastic player until a couple of seasons ago and, at 27/28, still has years ahead of him. If he’s available for 12m or so that’s a snip. Also don’t get the stuff about us signing Liverpool cast-offs. Sakho has been fantastic for us and even Benteke had a great season before confidence. If he’s good enough I don’t care who he played for.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Nat Clyne (Rumour)' by Midlands Eagle Absolutely an upgrade on Ward. Doesn’t smash the bank. In fact is cheap in today’s market. English and home grown. No brainier if the coke stories aren’t true. Not saying he’ll be as good as AWB but he’ll be more than good enough to upgrade Ward. I’d be lookig at Clyne plus maybe a younger full back to bring through to replace Ward as back up and take over from Clyne in a few years time.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Nat Clyne (Rumour)' by Midlands Eagle I wouldn't think he is worth 12 million. A big time Charlie these days. He hasn't been any good for a couple of years and there have been constant press rumours of problems.

The coke rumours are more than likely true, as Liverpool wouldn't of loaned him out and had to play Milner at RB when Trent Arnold was injured.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Nat Clyne (Rumour)' by Midlands Eagle Yes god young prospect definitely needed, what happens if he’s no better than Ward or takes a season to bed in. Personally think we should get both, for the sake of £10m, hedge our bets and buy Clyne as well. Clyne + Ward + young prospect.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Nat Clyne (Rumour)' by Midlands Eagle People are so quick to write of players. Showed an excellent attitude whilst he was here, liked up well with with Wilf when he played on the right. Has England caps to his name (after Walker, Trippier, Alexander Arnold, and AWB hes probably the next best English right back). A solid replacement for around £15m with £40m spare to spend elsewhere.

I think that everybody knows that Parish is trying to put the band back together You can get too nostalgic, but there's a lot to be gained if you have a group of local players with the right attitude.
