So apparently it's IS and they are using a local name as cover. Not really a local issue hence so unexpected albeit the Police knew something was up. I guess we could never hope that they would just go away after the caliphate fell.

Please stop trying to excuse terrorism.

They were Sri Lankan nationals. I think the Sri Lankan government is looking for foreign scapegoats to avoid their own failures. Educated in the UK and Australia is one comment do they have proof he was radicalised here? It wouldn't surprise me but a little evidence might help.

One bomber educated in the UK. In January the Telegraph reported our universities to be riddled with hateful preachers ( and that's not including all the feminists) The problem starts with words...And comes to fruition in a church in Sri Lanka We should de-platform Islamic hate preachers until they show respect to gays, women, non-believers and apostates.

You have a strange idea about the difference between excusing terrorism and understanding it This is worrying for many reasons. Not the usual petty criminals who get radicalised. Very organised, middle class and educated. No apparent connection to any earlier problems locally. Whilst the Sri Lanka Government isn’t always reliable in its communication, it also seems likely the bombers had been trained by experienced jihadists.

Sri Lanka is about 9 percent Islamic.....That's why the attack happened. It's a numbers game.....and if you look at a demographics world map of where attacks occur and what the demographics are....that's the real world conclusion. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Apr 2019 11.53am)

So the Sri Lanka attacker studied in UK. How many more of these radicals do we have in this country and does the left (or Tories) even care?

I agree that's what you would expect but this actually looks like a very rare but genuine attempt at journalism by the Guardian. Expect normal service to resume though.

Journalism is to educate, what has the guardian tought me? That we have foreign students? Or is the darling lefty guardian stirring up hatred, Edited by dannyboy1978 (24 Apr 2019 12.22pm)
