As for thick and thin part of the question, the oxtail soup was thick, the vegetable soup was thin. Think it cost sixpence to get in and threepence for a program. . . . & there peeps is the answer to all male questions. Oxtail = Thick Veg = Thin SIMPLES.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

since Jan 1973 - was Man U saw first game 0-5 (5-0!) two weeks later became a failed glory hunter - je ne regrette rien including home 80s defeats to the likes of Shrewsbury and Barnsley in front of 4000 or so in freezing conditions with Alan Mullary all shades cigar and fur giving it out on the touchline to little effect and Trevor Aylott and Trevor Francis the ups and downs of Peter Taylor, Florient Marange and Jaroslav Jach.

My first game was April 76 a 1-1 draw at home to Halifax. Think it was shortly before Southampton literally kicked us out of the FA Semi. Next games 0-0 Chesterfield and Aldershot. First win at home to York City 1-0 opening game 76-77. Worst was getting beaten 5-0 at home to w@nky Wimbledon in 85. Only silver lining was someone trying to lynch Noades.

Mine would have been 1953/54 or 1954/55 season. I remember Ray Potter was in goal and let one in through his legs; the oppo were in red but can't remember which team it was. We lived at 4 Farnley road, so dad used to take me up to see the last 20 minutes when the gates were opened to let the crowd out. The first goal I can remember was a Mike Deakin header at the Whitehorse Lane end some years later.

I remember that Huddersfield match. They were already relegated from the old Div 1 and we were now safe. They should have won, missing an open goal towards the end. But it was awful.... That match was a shocker. A wet drizzly afternoon with two sets of players going through the motions. No goals and no thrills. Truly awful. My first game was 55 years ago against Colchester United - Feb 1964. Unfortunately also 0-0. My dad bought me a rosette and one of those little star shaped plastic badges with a player's photo on it - I chose Andy Smillie. Unfortunately, unbeknown to me, he'd left the club a year earlier. The b****** selling it saw me coming! Edited by Pete53 (24 Apr 2019 4.54pm)
