I'm massively pro Roy. People are just looking at grass in yonder field. Nobody mourned Glenn Murray, most folks wanted Benteke. Sometimes, a good, simple, slightly boring option -- that you have -- is just fine.

He's not perfect by any stretch, but he's a dream for Palace given where we are at today.

Personally, I hope we are considering who will replace him if he chooses to retire this summer, but I hope he doesn't.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

No, I didn't say that. I said we had 2 players arguably capable of playing for top 4 teams whereas you don't. Foster is having the season of his life and I like Success. The rest are absolutely punching.

I'm happy that Watford refrained by in large from kicking f*** out of their betters on Saturday, as is their usual tactics, and deserved to go through having shown more want for the win.

As for bogus rivalry? I just don't like Deeney etc behaving thuggishly on and off the pitch. It's like watching Wimbledon of the 90s.
Enjoy the season. You'll finish 8th in the league and runners up in the cup before dropping off next season. A bit like Burnley.

Their betters? They've beaton us 3 times this season and have assembled a very good team. I would say their players are better than ours at the moment.

Just wanna talk about entitlements & expectations!

We seem to either, downer the size of the club, due to our history, not expected or entitled to be in the European places, cause (never mind the other clubs fans thoughts on that) OUR own supporters don’t believe in that somewhat ridiculous thought!

Does that mentality & attitude need to change?
Cause if the fello CPFC fans don’t believe, why should the players?

The flipside is, we expect to beat the Uddersfields & t***fords of this league, WHY? When last week I thought, we are a small club, that’s punching above our weight!

Next season will be Our SE7ENTH Premiership Season! Look how far we’ve come & achieved! Been to New Wembley, more times with PlayOff, Cup Finals & Yids Away, than ever before!

Lastly on, Aaron Wan~Bissaka!
Yes, he should of, been one of the first names for the senior ENG1AND team, especially as Sarfgate, is one of our own! BUT!! To those that say we are a small club, that are not entitled to anything... why should AWB be expected to be called straight into the national team? What’s the difference?
IMHO, Townsend should be also called up as well!

By the way, my expectations are, middish table finishes & trips towards the semi’s @ Wembley, in the Cups! Be like a Leicester/nEverton sorta club, but in Our own unique rollercoaster PA1ACE way!

Thoughts?

The ability of some of our players to pass to another who is only about four feet away is down to Mr Hodgson then is it?

And therein lies, I believe, one of the reasons we are not higher in the table.

The thing that always hits me is our haphazard passing. Yes, every so often we will string a few passes together and create a chance, and even a goal.

But,all too often we give the ball away when trying to break out of defence, or, likewise, give the ball away by sloppy passing when trying to mount an attack.

So many other sides seem to have players who can play a fast accurate passing game with quick movement and one touch football. Instead we have a rather laborious build up that entails numerous sideways and backwards passing (particularly at home). If we do try and speed things up we tend to give the ball away. Until we have players who can pass the ball with a high percentage of accuracy then we are not likely to trouble the top half of the table.

You miss the point.

Their players aren't better than ours, their performances are.

They kicked us out of two of those games and wanted to win more on Saturday.

They've been hatcheting everyone this year, it's a game plan. Guts, thunder and shin kicking.

Playing to the their players' strengths. Good management.

Brilliant post. Watching us phaff about with the ball just going from side to side and backwards is sleep inducing and just like you say it seems that every other team is so much better than keeping the ball than us. After six years in the Prem I thought we would have sorted this out by now.

Saved Fulham from relegation and took them to a Europa Cup Final.
Took WBA to 10th in PL,their highest ever finish.
Came to Palace after the RdB fiasco and with us rock bottom P7 W0 D0 L7 and no goals with every pundit in the land saying were 100% certain to go down saved us.

If you are going to blame him solely for our home record this season then ergo he must also be solely responsible for our wins at Man City, Wolves, Fulham, Huddersfield, Leicester, Burnley and a draw at Man Utd.
Evn at Anfield where our two keepers were injured we scored three goals and gave them a fright.

Not a shabby record as a Manager.

If only.

Ronald may have worked out better.

Hodgson has had many highs, and some very high profile lows.

One thing he has an issue with is when it is not working, he seems unable to turn things around, be that in a game, or in general.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Playing to their strengths, but also with some very good players, in my opinion most of who would walk into our team, while not many of ours would get into theirs...

We are still in with a chance of finishing 12th this season. And that would be about right based upon the players we have and the performances this season.

I think we have 2 players capable of playing for the top 6 - Zaha and AWB. Of the rest, I think we have a decent starting 11 when everyone is fit and a selection of useful players that provide some options in midfield. Up front we have an injury prone Wickham, a lost cause in Benteke and 3 loan players in Ayew, Michy and Bakary.

Given the absences through injury to Zaha and the lack of a proper fit forward other than Ayew prior to January it's no wonder we have struggled to have scored the goals which would have improved our position.

Defensively, AWB aside, Sakho is top quality but without him Tompkins seems to struggle. Kelly does a decent job when called upon for a 1 off game, but he and Dann aren't up to it on a regular basis. As for PVA - badly lost his way and needs a break.

And Watford - better squad overall. Not a fashionable club and losing to them 3 times hurts although all were close games. They clearly have a superior scouting network to us.

Compared to most clubs in the premiership we are a small club. Our problems start when we forget that.

Firstly, no we're not. Secondly, so what?

The sky is the limit. The problems start when fear of failure prohibits ambition.

"We're only a small club" is a self fulfilling prophecy.

So true.

The narrow minds of some fans do my head in.
You have to think big or forever be stuck with mediocrity.
