For your information I have already provided an explanation which incidently was made with no reference whatsoever to Wikipedia.

If he was Italian, German ,french , Brazilian he would be straight into their squads, that’s why England will never win anything. They choose players only at the big clubs, it’s so narrow minded. Southgate is a knob, he’s always distanced himself from Palace.

A lot of nonsense on here about you need to be this or that to play for England, let him develop etc.

No.

Representng your country simply boils down to form and merit.
He is the best right back in the division this season and top tackler in Europe. He's put City, united, Chelsea and Liverpool players in his pocket.

It is an unjustifiable disgrace that he's been overlooked. If you're good enough, you're old enough. What better way to develop then being tested at the very highest level?

Should be, but Unfortunately it's not, and never has been.

What possible benefit is it for AWB to be selected for England to Palace.

No good has ever resulted in previous Palace players being selected, they all left within a year.

He is now called into the under 21s a good opportunity for him. Southgate gave his reasons, he’s not prepared to hand caps out just on the fly. There’s some good RBs ahead of him who have played well for England. I am convinced he will get his chance soon. But as a Palace fan, have to admit it’s frustrating Would love to see him in an England shirt

It looks like I go against the grain but I am not sure he is quite ready yet.
Defensively he is probably the best full back in the league.
I think the are he may need to work on would be going forward, delivery of balls in the box etc and the decision making and confidence that goes with that.
I AM NOT SAYING HE IS POOR IN THIS DEPARTMENT BTW , BEFORE THE HATERS JUMP IN, Just an area to work on
Also I would not be surprised with the make up of the England squad that Southgate does not go with 3 at the back, leaving AWB playing at international level in a position he is not familiar with.

AWB would likely be first choice as right back for RDC, his birthplace. Of our former players not born in England who could expect to be more certain of being selected for a place in international/intercontinental contests, we´ve had VicMo, Wilf, and Bolasie. Not that anyone on this site could really care, but the sport is awash with Brazilian born footballers overlooked by CBF selectors who have chosen to be citizens of European, and even Japanese, nations: Diego Costa, Eduardo (Croatia and Arsenal), just to mention two that immediately spring to mind. Of course, there can be no comparing why Brazilians left their home country and African born players being overlooked, but flight from poverty and gang and tribal wars in their countries of birth have surely had a part in all instances.

Think he’s up there with the best English right backs in the country , a traditional fullback that tackles.
But he’s not good enough going forward to be a wing back, overlapping and putting in great crosses, hopefully that will be clocked by city etc and he won’t get a big move.

Not sure what your point is. I would however remind you that he is one of 3 England managers ever to lead his country to a major tournament semi final and is in fact the only one to do it twice. And he has done that with a fairly limited group of players.
So any criticism would appear misguided
