Should be enough to secure Bats plus others. If Batshuayi does well do you think he would want to stay permanently or is he putting himself in the shop window for a bigger club

Excellent goal, really really excellent goal from Michy at the weekend. How many times of late have we seen a true poacher's goal smashed into the back of the net by one of our centre forwards - not often. This season in the league? None at all. All our league goals from strikers have been from the loanees. I know that CB & CW have generally spent more time in the treatment room, but the focus now really should be on permanent players for 2019/20 that can score. CB has lost his mojo so either needs to be moved on OR given real competition for a spot in the team. If we can get Michy (although I think others will be interested, or Chelsea will take him back) that would be ideal, along with possibly a fit again Wickham as 3rd choice. We started this season with a bunch of forwards not on form. Yeh I agree, would be good to avoid that though? We have started the last few seasons really slowly with a string of very poor performances. I am not calling for us to sign the guy necessarily, just to clarify we have an option there or are priced out/they don’t want to sell anyway. If we cannot get him in the door permanently then let’s not forget, we still have a problem there unless Bakary Sako is the answer. Case in point he is another one who needs game time.

Batman seems to suit us - I don't believe he will ever be our player though. It seems a shame that no matter how many chances they get - Wickham is going to be injured and Benteke poor. Sorloth seems unlikely to ever be Premier League standard but he is on loan so is playing. So giving game time to the two strikers we have seems pointless as they don't seem likely to improve to me and presumably Roy also.

£40m for AWB, £60m for Wilf, (£5m for Benteke!) a big summer transfer kitty after owners have taken some out. Should be enough to secure Bats plus others. Love them to stay but realistically this must be in the Chairman's plans. Crazy. Sell the club's best players? All the goals against Burnley came from the right side: cross across the face of goal which Schlupp turned back, cross to Bats, Wilfs trickery for the third. Crazy talk.

i cannot see why people moan about loans...i know yhey are not our players, but more often than notvthey enhance the squad whilst here. the phrase “biting off your nose to spite your face” springs to mind!

Loans with an option to buy are truly great deals. It’s a win win. Loans with no option to buy and no realistic prospect represent the most short term thinking possible when running a football club. It’s time to move on from short term fire fighting and have a proper long term strategy. We shouldn’t need to loan first team players if our recruitment was good enough. We are literally helping rival clubs with improving their players and the value of their players. Did you notice the giant RLC sized hole in our midfield when we started out this year? If it increases our chances of not getting relegated then I am all for it, but: 1 - with the squad we have now we should have been nowhere near relegation this year either way. 2 - whilst we give game after game to Batshuayi we are literally making our strikers even worse by denying them game time. 3 - if we are going to cut ties with benteke we need to get the most money possible, that won’t be the case if he is not playing. As I said above while the spectre of relegation looms we need goals and points, end of story. Once safety is assured we need to be planning for next year, not building teams and systems around the very members of our squad we can guarantee WONT be here next year. Edited by Maine Eagle (06 Mar 2019 2.30am) Can't agree with any of this, RLC helped us to retain our Premiership status last season, Batshuayi probably will this season, or at least push us up the table, what is it, 1M plus for each place ?
