This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy, 442 at home please' by bexleydave No, 4-3-3 is the way, with Wilf and Andros either side of Batshuayi and Meyer as one of the central midfielders. 4-4-2 with just Luka and Meyer in the centre is too lightweight, especially if Wilf is playing on the left of the 4 - he can't be relied on to defend that much. He's at his best on the left of an attacking 3, let's play up to that. Also, we may have 4 strikers, but Batshuayi is the only one that actually looks any good.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy, 442 at home please' by bexleydave Anyone with half a football brain can see how dangerous 442 is these days, unfortunatly its only dangerous for the team using it! 433 is and always has been our best formation, Batshuayi up top. Our game has never been crossing, its why Benteke has never truly fit into out team whereas I can see Batshuayi being more comfortable with the ball to feet.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy, 442 at home please' by bexleydave Max M has struggled to impose himself when we've had 3 in midfield so him plus 1 would be madness. He did play more centrally in the Fa Cup and was disappointing and was subbed - a poor Barry Bannan in my view. Hopefully 2nd season with a decent pre season behind him we will see a better player. But lacks pace and not a strong tackler so I have my doubts. I think we could go to 442 in games for final 20 to 30 minutes if trailing though - Tekkers and Batman upfront would be a handful
