Salah is dreading VAR Originally posted by davenotamonkey
All I can say is: it will make things that little bit harder for Liverpool. What a farce today. Goal + Origi's effort at the end. And then Klopp afterwards whinging at the officials? Absolutely unreal! [Tweet Link]

I cannot understand why VAR requires 3 officials in a room to make decisions. Surely this in itself lengthens the debate/discussion and therefore impacts on the decision time! Other sports manage perfectly well with only one whom the referee refers to for clarification.

I guess the main idea is to have concurrence to avoid any debates that if the decision (to check the incident in VAR) was fair or not. VAR is used in my home country and even if there are 3 people, still there are complaints `why VAR was checked for a penalty claim` etc. It just supports that it is a decision of jury, not a single person. VAR creates a new type of complaint which is `why didn`t referee ask to VAR`?

Watching the Levante v RMA game this evening...after yet another ridiculous VAR decision (RMA second penalty) this just reinforces my belief that we are in for the most incredulous decisions that will do absolutely nothing to resolve some of the shocking refereeing decisions we have to suffer. How they can ‘review’ that incident and still decide it’s a penalty is absolutely beyond me! Pathetic!

Absolute rubbish. Killing the moment and still plenty of poor decisions anyway. Too much to the detriment of the paying fan. Trying to perfect and make a precise science of something that isn’t even down to the ridiculous imaginary lines they draw across the pitch to decide whether a player’s toe is offside. Honestly think the game is being run by idiots. Edited by Rachid Rachid Rachid (24 Feb 2019 10.38pm)

Absolutely shocking. UEFA need to step in (unless they’re taking bungs too!)

I can only re-iterate that VAR will not be a panacea in that subjective decisions will be made in certain instances and there will still be controversy.
