I seem to remember Fillon being the favourite and Macron struggling for credibility after jumping ship from the left.

Yes, you’re right, Fillon was the favourite initially, but the scandal was one of his own making, wasn’t it? He was accused of employing family members in non-jobs at rather attractive salaries. After he dropped out, Macron was neck and neck with Le Pen if I remember correctly. The other candidates who were all to the left in various degrees would have done better I think if Hollande hadn’t been so badly thought of.

Not true; he beat Le Pen by a huge margin in the second round run-off, but had already topped the polls in the first round against 5 other candidates. His support has dwindled to 18% because he has been milking the poorer people and sucking up to big business, breaking almost every pledge he made to improve ordinary people’s lives. In other words the French Tony Blair.

Yes. It’s in their DNA and they believe because of the French Revolution that the people can influence change. We on the other hand doff our caps to our superiors and the establishment because that’s what’s always happened. We’re a bit pathetic really until it gets to us being invaded and then you see real spirit come out, although I couldn’t rely on some of the pathetic drips to defend us now, which luckily would never happen with nuclear peace. Indeed we do sir, indeed we do!

Many new private estates for over 25 years have a housing association section that’s obvious to the eye. The whole estate in good condition and that part damaged and dirty. I think over 12 dwellings and 14% has to be social housing.
