Great performance but we must carry it forward... We now have 4 games where we really should be picking up points... In fact I would say it's vital we pick up a minimum of 7 points from the next 4 games.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

How bad? We're bad.

Happy to get 2 points, but we need to get 3 points regularly against relegation teams. And that's hard to do when we have only one player capable of scoring a goal.

Objectively, we're woeful. We have 2 wins in 13 games, same as Cardiff, who is surely going down.

And we have 8 goals in 13 games which is tied for worst in the league with Huddersfield.

A scoreless draw feels like the best we can hope for lately.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

This is exactly my worry... We are playing well... but we just can't score... If that continues we are bang in trouble.

How bad? Very.

Roy once again saying we played well enough to win.
We didn't win .Though we secured an unlikely point.

What is very annoying is that Huddersfield secure 3 unlikely points today away and leapfrog us leaving us one point from the bottom.

To make matters worse,Murray scores yet again for Brighton yesterday. How we could do with his qualities in our confidence shot side now.

Burnley is beginning to look like a must win game, but just who is going to score our goals???

Very well said Jacey, we have a mountain to climb and its the same season after season, why on earth can we not be like Bournemouth, they have been in the PL a shorter time, have the same history, why does it work for them and not us?, most likely they have a good chairman, which we do not, he is responsible for the lack of progress, he is the one constant in our time in PL and we just do not get better!

Against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and now Man Utd the commentators have said they're "not at their best." Is that true, or is the truth really that Roy has tactically prevented them from playing well? It is actually very intelligent the way we play with players adapting their position according to whether we are on the front foot (eg Meyer moving from the left to behind the front two) to defence (packing the 18-yard box with players positioned to spring the counter). Surely it can't be that of five top teams all of them had an off day against us?

It must be really frustrating for Roy to have everything so carefully orchestrated and yet to lack a player with the composure to find the net. I do think it has become a bit of a psychological thing though and players are over thinking things. Hopefully against more even opposition we can find the goal again.

Similar to how it was when Roy joined us, I get the feeling this tough run of games will galvanise the team and get them focused. Before we went into this run for the first time in years I was genuinely concerned, but we seem to be turning a corner and I think we'll do enough tp find mid table again.

The main difference between us & Bournemouth is consistency. The manager (apart from a 12 month period) has been there since 2004, managing since 2008. It's HIS team which has evolved well & continues to do so. Players brought in are his choices & fit the way he wants to play. Roy has inherited most of his squad which consists of players signed by how many managers - 4/5? In reality, this has been much the same for those managers too.

My understanding is the chairman there employs people to run the club & isn't overly involved, albeit he has been happy to breach FFP & take a fine or two.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I believe Eddie Howe took over the managerial reins at the club in January 2009 but left in 2011 to manage Burnley which he did for about a year and three quarters before returning to Bournemouth in October 2012.He had a great start winning 9 of his first 12 league games.Shortly after he returned, Bournemouth beat Dag & Red 4-0 and playing for the Daggers that day was Dwight Gayle.Howe has done brilliantly for Bournemouth and I dare say bigger clubs will be casting eyes in his direction.

With so many Managers since we got promoted it is difficult for anything to have settled down.
Different playing styles and training methods every 6 months would do for any Team.
The only bit of consistency was Pardew but he took a wrecking ball to the core of the team way too quickly and was allowed to continue for the equivalent of a whole season whilst producing relegation form - my only real criticism of SP - heart ruled head.
Whether Roy is the right Manager or not he needs to stay with us for the rest of this season and next.
Wilf will surely go but we need round pegs in round holes for once and over a period of time as well.
We are good and talented enough as a team if we could start to score - bloody big if mind!!

Watford's first season back in the PL was 2015-16.They are now in their 4th season back and have had 4 managers in the PL, Flores,Mazzari,Silva and now Gracia.

They really have had a few managers in recent seasons.

Southampton, who are often a club seen as doing it right and should be copied, have had 4 managers in the last 4 years Koeman, Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes, all inherited players.
