This is not acceptable and this I will put in a complaint about.

As for Youtube, it's a general platform and I haven't endorsed it. It's like any other platform, it's about the individuals who contribute to it....Some will be accurate and some won't be....so you have set up your own strawman argument here.

This guy is an unpleasant troll. The more you expose his nonsense the more unpleasant he becomes.

It's obvious that he's not quite all there.

I think you hit the nail on the head there Hrolf.

Peffers is far left, which is fine....Peffers does some trolling, which is also fine.....But when you start making suggestions like that.

Let's ignore the horrible implicit nature of how someone would obviously take that remark and instead address the nicest way someone could take it.

I taught computer science and IT not politics. I take pride in the fact....that unlike some teachers I know....I didn't mix my philosophy or politics with teaching my subject. Good god, if you can't trust STEM teachers with that who can you trust.

I'm strongly of the the view that teachers of any political nature shouldn't get involved in imparting their politics. (with the exception of lecturers at university level...because students know what they are getting and can make a choice)

That's basic professionalism....if your students know who you vote for or can guess it, then you haven't been doing a good job.

No one is paying you to pontificate on how you think the world should work....they are paying you to teach how computers/software work...or whatever the subject happens to be.

It’s definitely unacceptable but isn’t that his freedom of speech?

Or should freedom of speech only not have freedom of consequence on this website?

Freedom of speech has limitations in law and limitations here as laid down by the site rules.
It's all about how you interpret those rules.

Personally, I like it when people can expose their true character by being allowed to say what is on their mind.

I say let 'em talk.

I was talking about teaching ideology to kids but the "usuals" seem to have taken another way.

Surprise, Surprise, they don't like a doubting voice, and want to get me banned. One doesn't go 14 years without a yellow without understanding the English language, or law (at least of the Courts Of England and Wales).

Previously I've believed in free sppech on these boards; expect many many Rule 8 reports, I truely hope the Rule is obeyed and applied, as it is a rule of the site.

What do you make of the reports of civil service bullying.

At least 400 staff complaints of harassment, for a civil servant to complain it would appear serious.

No doubt brushed under the carpet.

Though it might be of interest.

I've always been suspicious of malicious reporting and ill health retirement within public services.

However, I've also been involved in many cases of both where the public entity's first answer is always "no" and then you start to negotiate on the [first] appeal.

I think when it comes to how most people would take that comment what he said would come under libel....While I complained it was under the basis upon how most people would read that comment. If it was concerned with him not liking a 'right wing' person teaching children....then while that's a silly viewpoint I would have accepted it no problem...He needed to make that clear in his comment.

Whenever I have spoken about freedom of speech....something I believe passionately about for everyone I've always phrased it within the structure of 'incitement to violence, libel, obscenity'....and being totally opposed to the relatively new revisions on so called 'hate speech'. (the concept originally coming from Stalin's soviet union)

I have respect for the free speech absolutist position but I think that ultimately that no rules at all lead to anarchy.....for example we'd be f-ing and c-ing on this site non stop with no rules at all.....You have a situation where someone can yell 'bomb' on a packed tube train.

But the bar has to be set pretty low....otherwise people are afraid to speak their mind. There are ways of putting your point across.

Left to the left....we see people are scared to voice their opinions. We have a job market where people get sacked for having the wrong opinions or having made a bad taste joke on social media....That isn't freedom, that's tyrannical.

We have situations where politicians never say anything outside of the mainstream.

So basically...if you get this far....I reject your implied criticism that I'm a hypocrite.

I don't think anyone wants you banned.

Unlike other sites we could mention it takes quite a lot here.

Certainly not.

I need to be reminded of the sort of people we have helped ruin this country.
