Crap it may be, but for some women the fear is a reality. Ask some women you know if they do any of the things on the list.your other points are of course true, but it's the malignant ones that are the problem. Nobody is saying that we're all walking around raping groping and being horrible to women, but some do and I'm afraid that includes some extreme versions of religions and some governments. This kind of stupid crap really grinds my gears. It feeds into this 'tonic masculinity' nonsense that is being used to damage young male minds. Here's the reality. Most men are biologically programmed to desire women. Some will chase them more than others...again mostly biological. From that programming a small percent will be malignant. This is nature and this will never change. Men and women are biologically different and always will be. In most instances they complement each other and that's how nature intended it.....otherwise the species wouldn't continue. The same genetic imperative that pushes men to advance humanity is the same imperative that wrecks it. Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Oct 2018 1.04pm)

That was my point. Europeans have the lowest incidents of actual rape than any other group and all you can do is continue that. Well, when I say nothing can be done about it.....I mean nothing practical.....at the moment radical feminists are damaging young male minds with senseless guilt trips about their gender instincts. There's no magic wand no but tiny steps. There's a group of women in Iran that are fighting back by removing head coverings, and if they see other women around the world are backing womens rights surely that's a good thing?and will encourage others to join the movement.you point out that Europe is in a better place with this then which I'm sure wasn't I'm some always the case, generally because of religion, misogyny or a mixture of both. Your point about Europe doesn't hold water simply because we still have religious countries in Europe such as Spain and Portugal and they aren't rape concerns. Also, while I'm very much an atheist I take issue with the part blaming of religion for a matter such as this....certainly the Judeo Christian tradition. While the Catholic church has issues that we are well aware of in the holistic sense more socially conservative Christian and Jewish cultures are not to blame.

I think the 2 examples you give probably add strength to the argument that women's rights globally aren't what they should be. So perhaps the focus should be on those specific examples rather than some tokenistic, broad stroke, misplaced nonsense about female empowerment.

You're arguing with yourself. You've pinpointed a problem in the world, and when people on an "international day" want to do something to highlight this, however stupid and pointless you think it is, you ask what's it got to do with us.its an"international day" global inter nations. Am I making sense or have I completely lost it? You are making perfect sense. My issue is this is a third world problem not a global or British problem.(although we have imported elements) What actually is the point here? Take Men out the situation and everything will be OK? broadly speaking Men in Britain treat woman well, this is all just tokenistic c*** to make the librals feel wet.
