That is exactly the kind of thing that results in libel cases. And I happen to know that Christine Blasey Ford is actually a well known poster on the HOL and massive Eagles fan. Hopefully she is a bit busy right now though. Edited by Mapletree (28 Sep 2018 11.12am)

Why does how long ago matter? A crime is still a crime no matter when it was committed. You wouldn’t let someone off for murder if someone came forward with evidence 36 years later. She hasnt got any evidence and can't remember all the facts.

It is re-assuring to know that the USA is just as bonkers as we are. In fact they have just gone into the lead.

It's almost as though they don't speak up due to fear until they are either pushed into having to speak up or feel that at last they may be believed. When you have no power you don't stick your head above the parapet. Instead you try to forget things ever happened that you find difficult to confront.

Edited by Mapletree (28 Sep 2018 11.12am) Your last paragraph at least seems to recognise something of the reality of these situations. This kind of statement about libel is occasionally made on Hol and it's always just a bit silly. The one before this referred to something Steely typed up and I responded in a similar way to this. There will be no libel case against a poster on a football forum aimed at a specific type of person and viewed by perhaps hundreds of people. It's just not going to happen. His ambition should be irrelevant too. You basically are implying that people with lower ambitions shouldn't be made to face up to allegations.

As usual the pendulum shifts too far. The love scene in Bladerunner would be regarded as rape today. Context always matters.

No one can say if the original charge is true or not. What can be stated however is that Christine Blasey Ford has made plenty of iffy statements and probably lied about a fear of flying. Personally I think she is a willing stooge for the democrats.
